CSULA Fall 2016 Nursing (BSN)

Updated:   Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions, especially because of the upcoming semester conversion. I have plenty of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

Hey! I'm also currently at Palomar finishing up prerequisites. I can't wait for this semester to be over already haha. Did you also apply to CSUSM nursing?

Nice! I'm avoiding studying for my micro test tomorrow because I want it to be over too haha! I started the application for CSUSM but the deadline crept up on me so I didn't finish it, did you apply?

And yay! It seems like there are transfers from all over the place.

Yes I did but considering that CSUSM doesn't let you know if you're admitted or not by June 1 and that you have to submit an intent to enroll just to find out, it's at the bottom of my list for nursing programs I applied to.

Haha micro was a lot of fun. Do you mind if I ask who is your current teacher?

Looks like another day will go by without any emails. Did anyone call the admissions office that has a 27?

I have Professor ******! It is fun I love this class, the material is not easy but it has been one of my favorites compared with Anatomy, Physio, and the other prereqs.

Oh whatt, she is who I had for micro too! She's one of my favorate teachers by far, definitely makes the class more interesting.

No point in calling admissions SON is still working on applications like the previous poster said

I think ****** has a list, but she's still working on sending out the letters. Maybe there's other paperwork components or things involved. But I bet she has a list of the top 60 + alternates. (I could be wrong, of course.) I'm hopeful for tomorrow. :)

Does anyone know for sure if were getting emails or letters?

Yeah, for sure we are getting emails. I asked ****** when I went to an informational session. That's why we didn't have to provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope this year. Good thing about email is that it's so much faster and no hunting down the mailman. Which is why I thought we would get them sooner than later! Hopefully tomorrow! :)

Hi guys so yesterday I checked my GET admission status and it said I was admitted, but today I got an email notification that said that my application was declined because I didn't meet the supplemental application criteria. Can anyone tell me what number I can call to simply ask about what it is I was missing? I would just hate to not know what I did wrong. Thanks.

Did you receive an email from CSULA admissions or the school of nursing? Your GET might say admitted because you have been admitted for your second choice major. The person in charge of the BSN program is ********* (323) 343-4730. But if you received the email from admissions, then it's a different number. Do you know where the email came from?

Specializes in Surgical/Trauma/Transplant ICU.

I would definitely call to see what the problem was... Also, I would take into account what a previous user said who is currently a CSULA student. If it didn't come directly from the school of nursing, then don't pay too much attention to it since their admissions staff can be inconsistent.
