I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!
Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!
I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.
Ya, CSUCI would be my dream school... I recently moved back from Hawaii, and a big surfer as well. I only came back to go to school, then I'm off to the islands again. I would loooove to be at the beach all the time....
But traveling on my motorcycle, it's too far to bring a surfboard anyway...lol
;/
Wish it was closer.....
What about you two (since we seem to be the only 3 on here) ? What are your other options/1st choices?
CSULA is the only school that I applied to this time around. If I do not get in, I'll be done with Micro in spring and will open my options up more to other schools (mainly ADN). I wanted to go to CSULB, but I took the wrong chem class thinking it was the same for every CSU nursing program but it is not. I applied to CSULB as another major for fall 2014 to take the chem class (at my school i'll have to take 5 semesters of chem before i reach the required biochem).
Why does your Chem not qualify? 5 semesters?!?!?! *****? Mine was the lowest chem offered at my campus and it was fine....[/quote']I took intro to chem that did not include any bio chem or organic chem... Fine for csula but not csulb. And yes 5 semesters... For that I might as well have my eyes set on ucla nursing school lol
I may stand corrected...lol
I checked assist.org. If what they say is set in stone, then my chemistry class doesn't count either. But is that site 100% correct? I read other forums that said people got in even though it wasn't listed on assist.
If it is true, then CSULA is my ONLY available option..lol
Oh well.... Fine with me....
Refer to::
how do you know your Chem isn't for CI? Assist doesn't show anything for CI chem.
Well I am transferring from LA Mission College. On Assist.org it says that there is NO ARTICULATING COURSES for the Chem requirement that are offered at LA mission. But you list here shows that you can take ANY chem class... contradicting information...
Assist.org, does not list an articulating course for CSUCI either... that's why the whole assist.org thing is screwy to me. The document you sent says that my class counts cause it WAS a 5 unit course.
I'm just applying to all three.... and I'll let them figure it out...lol
What school are you transferring from? Or transferring your Chem credit from? was it not 5 units?
Chemistry 140- 4-5 semester units minimum (or an equivalent 4-5 unit intergrated chemistry course with lab- must include general chem, organic chem and biochem)
LA mission - chem 51 is an appropriate class.

scroll down for course equivalents.
i'm transfering from SMC.. my equivalents are chem 10 & 31.. to get to 31 though i have to do chem 10 (completed), 11, 12, 21, 22, 24, 31.
That is crazy... Why would they do that to you?!?! Chem51 at Mission College is the lowest level Chemistry course offered and has NO prerequisite courses. It was like Baby Chemistry...lol[/quote']Yes but it all depends on how the course description is written. I went to wlac I should have taken my chem there... Oh well!!!

CSULA has old ugly buildings but the people and teachers there are incredibly nice.
CSUCI definitely has the best environment. Love it.
