Csula Fall 2014 applicants..

Published

I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!

Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!

I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.

So when are we supposed to hear from the S.O.N. about our status? I know it will take a little while, but this wait is already killing me....lol

Any idea?

Do we hear from them with an update?? I thought they just told us in April if we were accepted or not

Well... that sucks....

Don't think they'll contact you unless you are missing something. We'll probably know by end of April to May.

I wonder if gender is also a factor though. Because most applicants would probably be female. So the top scores will mostly consist of females. But the classes seem to be 50/50 in gender ratio.

Lol idk, thinking too much.

THat's a good question... If there is some sexism style affirmative action going on.....

How do you know that half the class is male?

maybe from past cohorts? man I've been trying to find something online about the demographics and stuff from people they've accepted like points, avg gpa, etc.. i can't find anything!

From class pictures I have seen (from 2 EMT coworkers that were also in Nursing school) Most of their classes were female. They were both at West Coast though.... Don't know about State Schools.

Maybe if their are some class pictures from past cohorts?

The "congratulations" picture on the CSULA site shows 3 guys and 7 females....

yes but that's also the ELMN cohort

Correct, but it shows that there is no 50/50 rule at the campus.... I believe it is just the top scores. And as previously mentioned, most top scores will be from female students due to the applicant pool being mainly female....

I wonder how many applicants there are this period?

I expect the average accepted GPA to be about 3.6 ... Purely a guess though....

only because I have a 4.0, and I expect many of the applicants would have the same...

Eh doesnt matter, if you got the points then you will be accepted. Wouldn't have it any other way.

They don't show demographics and average acceptance info. But the average GPA is 3.8 for prerequisites probably.

I agree...

Well at least I know that the ONLY applicants with a higher score than me, have either a Bachelor degree, or 100th percentiles on their TEAS... So I should be OK.... GEEEEEEZE I hate this pressure...

I know LA Mission College classmates that applied with MUCH lower scores, and I don't see many people reading this page. So we should be safe.

Hopefully we are the only 5 people that applied this year... LM*AO!! (THey made me sensor that ! )

Lol that would be awesome but I know once people get accepted they will start posting only to say they got accepted.
