I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!
Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!
I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.
I am curious as well...
Another few questions:
1. Does anyone's status say "accepted" with a check mark? Mine says "complete" with green circle.
2. Does anyone's major say "nursing"? mine still says "Health & Human Services".
3. Doe anyone still have to submit either the "Verification Worksheet - Independent" or "IRS Tax Transcript". I still need to turn both in, so that may be why I am not "accepted" yet.. But, I don't know...
Is anyone expecting to use their financial aid for tuition? If so, how do we do that, if the FA payment wont be received for a while? Has anyone spoken to financial aid office about using our cal-grants to pay tuition?
Furthermore, is everyone planning to add other courses to achieve "Full Time" student status? As of now--even with five courses-- we are considered part time, and ineligible for full cal-grant awards. I may take a course at community college to get the minimum 12 units.
You can still register for other classes on the day you are able to register, it is just the nursing classes that can't be added until the day of the orientation. And I believe the major changes to nursing on the day of the orientation as well. And Joe Friday you need to turn in those form to the financial aid office to receive your financial aid. The financial aid will automatically be used for your tuition and what ever is left over will be sent to you. I plan to take a kinesiology course worth one unit to make myself a full time student.
So we won't be able to register at all? What about us transfers? Will we not be able to register at all for the upper theme classes and the transfer course we need to take?Or will the nursing program just help us with all of that?
You can still register for GE classes so you should enroll for GE classes yourself asap because those get full fast.
Thanks for the info. I am turning in the papers this week, and I do have the fafsa award letter saying I should get full amount.So... How do we know our individual registration date, so we can start adding other courses?

To check your registration date:
Log onto GET--> Student Center--> on the right side "Enrollment dates".
So we just pay 6+ unit tuition like we normally do if no financial aid?
You can add classes into a shopping cart starting tomorrow I believe. The registration date should be found on the student center page, if not then you can check here is estimate... Fall Quarter Information

That link is info on continuing students.... is there something that explains registration dates for transfer students?

From past years posts, I've heard we weren't allowed to register for classes until we attend orientation which is the day before the first day of school.
Also, the nursing classes say that you must be in the nursing program in order to add the class, but my major still says my back up major... So, I wouldn't be able to add any classes anyways during registration week.
