Csula Fall 2014 applicants..

I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!

Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!

I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.

Definitely, plenty of possible variables could pop up in the next few years.. And "Life" has a funny way of throwing curve balls.

A few years ago, I was an electrician in Hawaii with a music degree, and thought Corpus Luteum was a heavy-metal band...lmbo!!!

But i do intended to get a master's, maybe doctorate, so i just need to keep pushing thru the pain....lol

Congrats!!!! I knew the payment deadline would open some spots. J-dizzle was calling accepted candidates which had not yet paid their deposit.

Some of them probably backed out right then maybe that's how your spot opened... And more spots will hopefully open after the 1st.

@JENN , you should just pay the deposit. It's like your admission fee to the raffle....if you had 23 pts, you should be close runner-up right now..

I'm actually going to apply to lac usc... Even if I get into csula I will be turning it down.... There are many factors on why I'm going this route (in my opinion it's better and will be getting much better clinical experience) and will be doing RN BSN as soon as I graduate.

Well, good luck to you !! lac usc is a great hospital. Personally, Not sure about the school part (It's probably great as well) but I used to take pts to that ER all the time….lol

They have same nclex pass rate as csula. My last semester I will be taking care of 5 pts. In csulas last semester it's only 2 or 3 max. Much more exp and more exposure to crazy acute illnesses which is what I want.

This was so much easier to know i didn't want to go when I knew I wasn't going to be accepted.

I don't know what to do now!!!!!!

I can understand that, few people got B before getting into nursing, in the program, there are still 4.0 s even it requires 93+, it is possible, but for students dont want to go master's program, C is fine. As time goes on, we care less about the grades. B/c things can change, and u will never know. All the students got accepted are good, I mean at least 3.8 from last year; even so, we still have student fail, which we thought it will never happen in our lives. Do your best, anything is possible.

Hi angel thanks for answering our questions. Regarding the C and lower grades.....do you get kicked out of the nursing program if you fail a class (C- or below)? I mean what percentage of people who got in make it to graduation?

Just my two cents (even though you didn't ask for it...lol):

If it were me, I would take the acceptance... I wouldn't want to go through all this application process junk and stress again..... That's why I decided to not apply for LB in the spring... I'm already accepted, why fight it?? Take the offer... Come join us on the other side !!!
