I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!
Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!

EJSan, Did you already receive a status letter yet? We both have the same number of earned points!
I think all 23s got wait listed... Probably some 22s. If there were only enough spots of 60 people to accept 24s and there are people with 28s I think we should be ok. Lemons says she knows 2 people who are rejecting... I project there will be around 15ish or so.. Enough were atleast all 23s get in
Jen, that may be a little over-optimistic…
I'm not trying to be a jerk, or make anybody upset, I am just trying to be as objective as possible here. I was correct about the cutoff for acceptances, and here is my deductive reasoning regarding the wait-list:
1) For 15 spots to open, 25% of people will have to deny their acceptance. I don't think that will happen, especially because so many (HIGHLY QUALIFIED) applicants were denied from the nearby CSULB (ME, for example). CSULB turned down over 500 applicants!!
Plus, didn't the man from the SON say that most people do NOT turn down their acceptances?
2) 24's got wait listed as well… And there were probably many (at least 10) wait-listed with a 24.
3) I'm sure there were MORE than 15 applicants with 23's.
SO, We will see what happens… But, my hypothesis is:
a) MOST of the wait-listed 24's will get in…. Maybe all….
b) SOME of the 23's MIGHT get in. IF 23's get in, only some will, definitely not all...
This semester was very competitive. According to the CSULB director, this is the GREATEST number of applications, and the HIGHEST cutoff score they have ever had, EVER!!
Honestly, an LA score of 26/31 would not even be near consideration for acceptance at CSULB (with their ranking process).
CSULA seems to be the easiest to get into, that should give us a good idea of just how competitive other student's scores actually are, and how many of them are applying…
Again, I am not trying to upset anyone, just calling it how I see it…. I wish we could all get in, but that's just not he case… (truthfully, that would probably make me feel a bit cheated for all the hard work I have put in)
I wish everyone the best of luck; and congrats, again, to those who were accepted….
The struggle is real, y'all...
do you know the email address where we can send it??is there a different deposit due to the SON, than the $100 to the University?
No I didn't email it, I faxed it becuase I was scared becuase their email inbox is probably exploding right now so they might not get it and I had my friend hand in a copy for me
i don't' think so, I think it's just to the school. Wouldn't think the SON would have one too.
I'm sure there was a lot of people also applying to UCLA, CSUSB, Channel Islands, and Fullerton that will reject their acceptance to CSULA if it was their secondary choice.
I think it will be the other way around. Those other programs are MUCH harder to get into, and in MUCH nicer locations/campises... a ton of highly qualified applicants got rejected from those schools...
My bet is that most of them got turned down for their 1st choice at LB or CI, and will accept LA as their second choice.

That's crazy that even 23 get wait listed. I would assume that it is considered pretty solid score.
Wow shocking.
