Csula Fall 2014 applicants..

Published

I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!

Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!

I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.

We can only hope...lol

But, i do know a few people that do not know about this site either ...

My micro class at LA mission has seats too, but that's cause everyone dropped after the first quiz....lol

Hopefully we are the only 6-7 people that applied.. Lol

I doubt we're the ONLY ones who've applied, but it would be nice lol.. but the people I encounter at my school, SMC, that have way better grades than me, going for ADN. They didn't even know you could transfer out to get a bachelors, or they're looking for the easy way. I don't think a two year waitlist is an easy way but that's up to them.

….lm*ao!!!

Get em, Jenn!!

I've been occasionally coming online and reading this forum just to see where I rank. However, based on the points that you guys have been posting, I am not feeling so confident. I have 20 points for CSULA, and I feel like I'll have a much better chance at being accepted into some of the ADN schools that I've also applied to.

Hi David...

Thanks for sharing.... You are correct that 20 is not very competitive.. But students with the lowest scores have been sent denial letters already... What adn programs did you apply for, and how well do your grades compare to others in those programs?

Are you sure that all students with lowest scores got denial letters?? Did you talk to your friend?

I haven't received a denial letter, yet. Depending on how CSULA calculates cumulative GPA, I might actually have 1 or 2 more points. I also applied to Pasadena CC, LA County College, Chaffey, Citrus, and Rio Hondo. My grades are pretty competitive for all of these schools except Citrus because they give 15 extra points for experience, which I do not have. The way I see it, if I don't get accepted to CSULA, I'll enter PCC's ADN program as a collaborative track student, which allows me to get my BSN at CSULA in only one year after graduating with my ADN at Pasadena. The total amount of time to get my BSN would also be 3 years even if I start at PCC.

Hi fellas,

so i guess not hearing from then at all to this point is actually a good thing. The only that is infuriating is the wait. Anyway, best of luck to us all!

Did you get accepted into PCC already??? I hear that school is lottery, but they have a good nursing program. I know a lot of the nursing programs in the area (ADN) have collaborative tracks with atleast one CSU campus. I know at SMC theirs is CSUDH.
