CSULA BSN FALL 2019

Published

It may be a bit early, but I wanted to create this forum for all of us students who want to be accepted into CSULA's SON for Fall 2019. We can discuss the TEAS, pre-reqs, deadlines, points, CSU transfer procedures, etc. Let's do this!

Just dropped by to lurk! I just got accepted in the ABSN program starting in June and applicants were notified this week as well. Congrats to those who got accepted for the traditional BSN program! I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around campus and the nursing facilities / hallways.

hey guys! does anyone know when we start registering for classes and when orientation is and all that stuff?

has anyone paid the $100 enrollment deposit fee thing yet?

Has anyone heard anything about how the Nursing Faculty is like? Are they great? Why are you choosing CSULA?

current csula student here! the email that they sent to us said "A mandatory two-day welcome and orientation session is on July 16-17, 2019. Students who do not attend orientation will not be permitted to register for fall classes and may be dropped from the program. You will be mailed an information packet that will include the orientation agenda, the fall nursing course schedule, health requirements, and other important information. Fall classes will begin August 19, 2019." (The academic calendar says classes start on the 20th. I think it was a typo in the email?)

sorry!! quoted the wrong comment (computer glitch). the email is from the acceptance emails!!

CSULA is pretty good. the program has a pretty high nclex pass rate. it's my priority school bc it's the most affordable for me and the nearest one to me. the only downside is the parking, limited food choices (at least the ones I prefer eating... you have to travel off-campus for better food and boba), and the old buildings. haven't heard too much about the faculty. my friends in the program like it but it's just stressful (same for other nursing programs)

The deadline to accept our admission is May 1st, right?

Hello! I am current CSULA student and based on the e-mail they sent me, it says I should respond indicating whether or not I am still interested with their program for this fall no later than March 29.

I’m guessing it’s different if you’re a current student. I’m a transfer student and mine said May 1st. :)

Im a transfer student as well and my email said to just pay the enrollment fee by May 1st and to send in all transcripts to confirm enrollment.

This may be slightly off topic so please feel free to ignore or I can message you separately! I'm moving down to SoCal /CSULA from San Francisco-Bayarea in June and I really don't know much about LA county cities and the surrounding cities near CSULA and I was wondering, do you guys recommend Alhambra as a good city to live in and that's good for commuting to CSULA? From my apartment hunting, I found Alhambra to be a pretty cool city that's close to school. I plan on visiting in person soon and I also looked at El Monte, Covina, Baldwin Park and East LA too but Alhambra is really resonating with me haha. Super excited to meet you guys at orientation! ?

Have any transfer students received an email about orientation? & if you sent transcripts the day acceptance letters were released, is it still on your to do list & is your status still incomplete?

I haven't received an email about orientation yet. I sent my transcripts the day letters were released and my to do list says incomplete as well. I called admissions today and they received 2/3 of my transcripts and they said it's going to take some time for our to do list to clear out.
