It may be a bit early, but I wanted to create this forum for all of us students who want to be accepted into CSULA's SON for Fall 2019. We can discuss the TEAS, pre-reqs, deadlines, points, CSU transfer procedures, etc. Let's do this!

This may be slightly off topic so please feel free to ignore or I can message you separately! I'm moving down to SoCal /CSULA from San Francisco-Bayarea in June and I really don't know much about LA county cities and the surrounding cities near CSULA and I was wondering, do you guys recommend Alhambra as a good city to live in and that's good for commuting to CSULA? From my apartment hunting, I found Alhambra to be a pretty cool city that's close to school. I plan on visiting in person soon and I also looked at El Monte, Covina, Baldwin Park and East LA too but Alhambra is really resonating with me haha. Super excited to meet you guys at orientation! ?
Yay congratulations btw!! I've lived in SoCal my entire life and I haven't really found any reason to stay in Alhambra too long, but since it's super close to school I'd definitely try the city out. There are a bunch of other cities that are close by (like-Pasadena, Glendale, etc.) that can provide most of the things you might be looking for! It really depends on what you like being near but food and shopping can be checked off since you're near all those areas. If you have any more questions or are thinking about other areas PM me and i'll respond back!

Hi! Welcome to the 626 ☺️ I think out of all the places you’ve listed so far, Alhambra is definitely the best candidate—in my own PERSONAL opinion. I think the best part of living in Alhambra is that you’ll be SUPER close to the Asian hub that makes 626 the “new” Chinatown. You’ll have access to Chinese/Taiwanese/Vietnamese and even some Korean/Japanese restaurants/eats! You like boba? Look no further. There’s practically a boba shop on every street. Main St. on Alhambra is also a cool place to hang out. There’s a ton of restaurants in that area and a movie theater too! Also, don’t worry about access to a freeway. Alhambra is close to one as well so it shouldn’t be too long of a drive to CSULA. I think I’m about a “12 minute” drive to campus but I think that’s without traffic—& I also live in a city near Alhambra.

Omg I totally forgot about that, I was thinking about Arcadia! But yes if you love boba you're completely set haha. cw4031 is the tour guide you need!

To be completely fair, I was gonna recommend Arcadia as well but that area is DEFINITELY a lot pricier. Well, for rent anyways. So is Pasadena ?I think Alhambra is better than El Monte like....10000000000%. No offense to anyone who lives in El Monte! I just think Alhambra is a nice, safe, convenient, and perhaps the cheapest of all places listed!
Also, I sent my transcripts as soon as I got accepted too...But the transcript portion of my to-do list hasn’t been checked off or anything! Still says “initiated”. I checked and the places I ordered transcripts from said they were already “completed” or “processed”. Should I call admissions and double-check on that?
Thank you both for your recommendations/ advice! I greatly appreciate it. Im going to check out Pasadena and Glendale and i'm crossing El Monte off my search list haha! And I looooove boba so Alhambra just might be the place for me ? And thats so reassuring about Alhambra being close to CSULA. One thing i've heard about CSULA is the parking isn't the best and sometimes it takes a while to find a parking spot/decent parking but I read on CSULA's homepage there are ways to commute from Alhambra to CSULA by shuttle and other public transportation so Im hopefully going to figure out how to navigate my way this summer too just in case the rumors proves true lol.

Yes, call to double-check! I called this morning & CSULA has mine even though it’s still on my to do list

I checked my to do list today and it no longer says anything. It says " no to dos". I sent mine around three days after the acceptance email.
I want to remind anyone that if you mentioned AP exams on the application, you need to send those in along with your transcripts. In my situation, my AP scores were from over 5 years ago so I had to request them from the AP board because they were archived. It took at least 3 weeks in my case.

I'm a transfer and have not received anything else other than the initial acceptance letter earlier this month. My transcripts were received a week after I sent them (I sent them as soon as I got accepted) but I had a verification requirement also due that I literally just gave them today. They said it may take 24hrs to show as submitted on my GET account and I hope once it does my status will change from incomplete to complete.
