CSULA BSN FALL 2019
Hey! This is the link to the updated 2020 guidelines to the traditional BSN program! https://www.calstatela.edu/sites/default/files/groups/Patricia%20A.%20Chin%20School%20of%20Nursing/PDF/must_read_information_for_applicants_bsn_trad.pdf I'd recommend going through all of it as there is a lot of important information on the pdf; but, the required pre-requisites are on page 3 of the pdf and you can use www.assist.org to see what classes you can transfer from community college for those needed pre-requisites. Currently, there are 4 required pre-requisites for the first semester which are: BIOL 2010 w/ Lab CHEM 1010 w/ Lab ENGL 1010 And an upper/lower division course of statistics (All of these are mentioned in the pdf I linked above :))

CSULA BSN FALL 2019
No problem! So I'm not too sure how the classes work out since the pre-nursing student can complete them in 1 year now. 2 years ago when I applied we had to take pre-requisites for the first 2 years. From what I can remember, the Golden State Eagle Orientation was not the day I chose classes for the upcoming fall. I took a look at the updated information PACSON updated Summer 2020 and it states that the prerequisites must be completed by December 31, prior to the application deadline, so yes you must complete the courses the first semester of college if you want to try applying to the traditional BSN program for the upcoming year. From my experience, getting classes especially BIOL 2010 and CHEM 1010 were absolute hell. My other friend and I did not get those needed prerequisites the first semester of college. Even the next semester, we had to scramble on waitlists and ask teachers to accept us into their class. It's really terrible...Unfortunately, if you do not get the needed classes during your first year, you cannot try applying for the traditional nursing program during your first year. You must wait until next year. The only exception to prerequisites is Microbiology which can be taken during the Spring semester.

CSULA BSN FALL 2019
No prob !! A pre-nursing student accepted into CSULA isn't in CSULA's traditional BSN program yet. The "pre-nursing student" denotes that you are in the process of applying to the school's nursing program after you complete your prerequisites. After you complete your prerequisites, you will have to apply to the school's nursing program again, this time for the actual nursing program, if that makes sense. So essentially, there isn't another acceptance you need to accept. (I don't believe this process has changed...but I may be wrong. I'll check online!) And sorry I didn't mention this earlier, but congrats on getting accepted into CSULA! ?

CSULA BSN FALL 2019
Hello! To add on, CSULA actually has a university catalog of all their classes, including nursing ones. Link: http://ecatalog.calstatela.edu/content.php?catoid=25&catoid=25&navoid=2604&filter[item_type]=3&filter[only_active]=1&filter[3]=1&filter[cpage]=37 If you wanted to see what the courses are+their respective course names, all you have to do is input NURS as the prefix and one of the class numbers from the nursing roadmap (ex: NURS 1100) and a course description should pop up! You should be able to look at all of the courses in the roadmap that was linked earlier if you want to take a look at what our courses might be like. Hope this helps! I also inserted an example down below of what pops up

CSULA BSN FALL 2019
Yay congratulations btw!! I've lived in SoCal my entire life and I haven't really found any reason to stay in Alhambra too long, but since it's super close to school I'd definitely try the city out. There are a bunch of other cities that are close by (like-Pasadena, Glendale, etc.) that can provide most of the things you might be looking for! It really depends on what you like being near but food and shopping can be checked off since you're near all those areas. If you have any more questions or are thinking about other areas PM me and i'll respond back!
