CSUEB - Cal State East Bay Fall 2020

Published

Thought I'd start at Fall 2020 thread for CSUEB to see if anyone else here is preparing to apply for Fall 2020 in Hayward.

I'm finishing up my pre-reqs this Fall and just signed up for the TEAS. Getting pretty excited as I feel like some of my hard work is starting to pay off and just wondered if anyone else is too. Here are some of my stats: science GPA 4.0, cumulative 3.97, local admin points and health hours are good.

I've never written a personal statement before which is now required, anyone have any tips? I want as many of those 20 points possible as I can manage!

Received my acceptance today too! Just a quick question for anyone who isn't a CSUEB student: Did you get acceptance to the university yet? I got my nursing acceptance, but the university still is "processing" my application.

My stats were: 3.9 GPA, 94% TEAS, 500+ hours healthcare, Bay Area local

I was accepted! looking forward to meeting you all!

They typically hold university acceptance emails to nursing applicants until the nursing school makes their decisions. So you should be receiving a packet or email soon from the main university. (this is my second time applying for nursing so thats how I figured this out )

Of course and good luck to you and everyone else!! I've heard there were plenty of transfers that were accepted last year which is a great sign for people who applied out of the area!

Here is what I have for the application:

3.83 GPA, 87.9 TEAS, local admission area, took all science pre-req's at East Bay, health and community experience (both paid and unpaid) ~400hrs

Received the acceptance! Excited to see you all next year and I wish all the best for the people who are waitlisted!

Those who denied from nursing admission, did they give you specific reason why they denied application?

My response sounds generic. It reads:

"Your nursing application point total compared to other applicants was not high enough to qualify you for admission or waitlist status. Point totals take into consideration prerequisite GPA, TEAS score, personal statement and optional point categories."

hmm, mine one.. "your personal statement did not meet requirements".nothing else. How I can improve my personal statement? Is there group where I can get idea or help about it.

There should be an email contact somewhere on the email that you can reply to with questions and ask for your application to be looked at by someone. I did this when I was rejected for last Spring. They will go over all the point areas and why you did or did not get points. It was looked over by someone personally and was really thorough and helpful. However it takes about month or longer for them to get back to you.

I also got my point total wasn’t high enough. I don’t have health experience or speak a second language, so I knew it was a long shot as far as points go.

Thank you so much for this information. I just now e-mailed them requesting a break down of my points. I re-took the TEAS in January with an 88.0, and I feel that an 88.0 is still not competitive enough.

Again, thank you and congrats to everyone who got in!

Hi!!

I got waitlisted as well. I wish I knew what number I was, so I can make further decisions for other schools. Does anybody know how many people east bay put on the waitlist?

These are my stats ...

- Science GPA - 3.78

- TEAS - 89

- Healthcare experience (400+)

- Second Language

I got waitlisted last semester and they said 30 people get on the waitlist. I am not sure if that is different for the fall so you may want to reach out to them!
