Thought I'd start at Fall 2020 thread for CSUEB to see if anyone else here is preparing to apply for Fall 2020 in Hayward.
I'm finishing up my pre-reqs this Fall and just signed up for the TEAS. Getting pretty excited as I feel like some of my hard work is starting to pay off and just wondered if anyone else is too. Here are some of my stats: science GPA 4.0, cumulative 3.97, local admin points and health hours are good.
I've never written a personal statement before which is now required, anyone have any tips? I want as many of those 20 points possible as I can manage!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m honestly in shock I even got put on the waitlist b/c I know others who I think were better applicants than me & we rejected. I saw the thread from back in 2019 when people were applying, but I think (if I remember correctly) there was only 1 entry about someone getting off the waitlist. It would be so much easier if all the schools made their decisions within the same month.

I’m in the same boat as you!! I’m also waitlisted. I know I’ve seen a couple people from the previous year about getting off the waitlist but I’m also holding on to the fact that there’s a lot of others who aren’t on this forum and hopefully there are more people who have gotten off the waitlist. I wish you luck into getting in the program!! What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking?
Hello everyone!! Today at 3:21 I received an email with an offer of admission today from EB & I am in absolute disbelief because I have been on their waitlist for over a month & did not expect anything to come so soon given what’s been happening. The past 2.5 years have been filled with so many up’s & down’s, less than ideal professors, & an immeasurable amount of worrying & self doubt. To all of my pre-nursing students, especially those in California, DO NOT GIVE UP. I had less than perfect pre-req grades, a less than perfect GPA, & a less than perfect TEAS score. And I still made it in. I promise you, everything will work out in your favor, & you WILL get in wherever you are meant to get in. You WILL have that RN behind your name. And you WILL succeed. To everyone who has gotten in, you deserve a MAJOR pat on the back & I am so excited for your new journey. To everyone who is still waiting, I am in your corner rooting for you! This is a very unique time to be entering a professional health program, & I couldn’t be more excited & nervous to tackle it with my new cohort!
Hello everyone,
I received an email 04/16/2020 @3:21pm, stating I am being offered admission to the Fall 2020 BSN program. I made it off the waiting list! I will be sharing my stats as this may be helpful to future students.
My stats:
(All 8 Pre-reqs): 3.56 GPA
(4 science Pre-reqs): 3.25 GPA
TEAS: 91.3%
Non-local, Second language (Spanish), 75+ Healthcare hours (Unpaid as a CNA)
I hope this helps and best of luck to all of you. Looking forward to starting in Fall 2020 and meeting my nursing cohort!
Hi!!
I was offered admission into the program recently as well. For those waiting on the waitlist, I hope you guys hear back soon!
I'm planning to move to Hayward to be closer to campus. If you're looking to share an apartment/house, please let me know (preferably female ?)!

Yes! I am and I believe @mbwangs (ig: chuuuyen) is as well. I'll be more sure about my housing options later in May. But let's all keep in touch!

Hi! Yes I just saw the email the department sent out. I know the decision was made with every possible regards to the students, but it's hard to not feel disappointed & frustrated. Would anyone for our cohort be willing to make a facebook page for us? I would love to commiserate with & get to know everyone who got in/who plan on still attending in the fall of 2021. I have no doubt this will affect all the nursing schools myself & everyone else has applied to unfortunately. I am debating emailing the department & asking if they can defer any of us to start in the Spring @ the Concord campus, but I'm sure they've already tried to factor that in. I wonder how this will affect people applying for Spring 2021, & if they will even defer taking a cohort there.

@Nicole Reavis Hi Nicole, you can search for the Fall 2019 CSUEB thread and I think people talk about who got in off the waitlist. It may take some time because some schools still have not released their admission decisions for fall yet so people have yet to decline or accept admission until they hear back from other schools. Stay positive its only your first time applying and its tough to get in on the first try. I'm rooting for you to get off that waitlist, don't give up and if it doesn't work out apply for Spring!
