Hello everyone,

Application period is officially open so I wanted to start a thread and see how everyone's feeling!

Anyone here anything from the school? Getting so nervous the closer we get to November.

I heard that someone else got a rejection email today. I haven't heard of any acceptance emails.

They probably are still reviewing and sending out all the rejection first. This is the only school that I applied to that I don’t want to hear back til November LOL.

Uh oh! Okay so they may be sending out rejections still. I’ll update if I hear anything

Hey! So I got my rejection email this past Monday, and my friend got their rejection email on last week’s Monday. The first initial of their last name is before mine, so I believe they’re sending out rejection emails in alphabetical order every Monday.

Pretty disappointed with the results because I was *kind of* confident in my stats (3.9 GPA, 88% TEAS, 150 hours of volunteering at Kaiser) and my friend actually got a higher TEAS score than me.

It seems like East Bay’s heavily looking at the optional criteria because I only had healthcare experience and local residency points. I feel like if you met all the criteria (such as bilingual fluency and military) you probably got in. Kind of sad too because they didn’t look into my personal statements but oh well.

Also makes sense why the applicant pool is so competitive and most likely tripled because they didn’t accept anyone this year (2021) so a huge number of people applied for Spring 2022. Good luck to those who are still waiting to hear back!

I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get in! They are sending out these letters pretty fast. Most schools make you wait until mid/end November. What letter do you think they are on as far as last name?
Your stats are really good. Did you get points for first generation (I think that was part of the additional points) in addition to local points?

I believe they should be on around letter G! Thank you! ? I just checked the website and first generation wasn’t part of additional points. The points I had were healthcare and local residency points!

Good luck, lovemarklee. And thank you for your insight!

could it also be the letter of the NETID? Just because I know someone with last name that started with letter S got rejected.

I’m so sorry you didn’t get in! Your stats are very good, so I’m sure you’ll have luck soon! If you don’t mind me asking, was your 3.9 GPA for prerequisites or cumulative?

They might be going through tiebreakers at this point, so TEAS science score and GPA for baccalaureate level work would also be considered.

I also feel like they should be reading personal statements now though. I mean, November is a little more than a week away, right? I hope they’re reading SOMETHING ???

Thank you for the info… it’s all making me so very nervous! Stay hopeful everyone! I’m certainly trying to!!

Thank you, good luck to you too! Oh yeah maybe! My NetID starts with the letter O. What letter did your friend’s NetID start with if I may ask?

3.9 is for prerequisites because I got an A- in COMM! Thank you, same with you!! Hmm that might be true but I’m not really sure about the tiebreakers because I have two friends who got outstanding TEAS scores (way higher than mine) who got rejected. I feel like it’s the optional criteria such as taking the 4 science classes at East Bay itself that are helping some people. For personal statements, I heard that they only read those of the top 1/3 of the accepted people ? Yes good luck again!! ☺️

Thank you for the info!

Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned that CSUEB gives the same amount of points for TEAS, as long as you score over 80… which may be why people with higher TEAS scores are being rejected. I imagine that this would cause a loooott of people to have same total points even with optional criteria, and would cause tiebreakers to come into play. Their website states that in the case of tiebreakers, baccalaureate level GPA, TEAS science score and residency status are all considered.

Ugh, I’m just trying to make sense of it all LOL I’m so terribly nervous!

Best of luck to you! …and everyone that’s still hanging in there!!
