Hello everyone, 

Application period is officially open so I wanted to start a thread and see how everyone's feeling!

Hi all,

I just received my rejection letter from CSUEB ?. It’s such a bummer but I guess it really is super competitive this application period. They said my point totals are not high enough. I also applied to SFSU and Dominican so hopefully I get into atleast one of those schools 

Here are my stats: 

Pre-req GPA: 4.0 

Overall GPA: 3.96 

TEAS: 91.3% 

I also have about 350 hours of both healthcare and multicultural volunteer experience

OMG! No way, ugh! I’m so sorry!! Your stats are awesome. Praying for you! Did they say that they read your personal statement? Or was it because of the minimum criteria not being met?

They said “Your nursing application point total compared to other applicants was not high enough to qualify you for admission or waitlist status. Point totals take into consideration prerequisite GPA, TEAS score, personal statement and optional point categories”.

I’m not sure if they actually read my personal statement or not but it seems like having more than one optional point categories might help. Unfortunately I don’t have any bilingual points and I’m not considered a local Bc I’m coming from a CSU not a community college ?

OMG, that’s crazy! Based on that message, it seems like they ARE reading personal statements. I don’t think it was listed as an evaluating factor with previous denial letters.  

I’m so sorry. You’ll get in somewhere, for sure. Dust yourself off and apply again! Best of luck to you!

I just got an email that I was placed on the waitlist. They also sent a separate email with my relative position on the waitlist (but not the exact spot). 

For reference, my TEAS was ~96, and GPA 3.8. I had maximum health and community experience hours, but didn't qualify for any other points.

Hi,

I also just received  the email that I got into upper waitlist range ( they didn’t give out my specific number on the waitlist yet). My GPA and TEAS are not high enough compared to other people so it is beyond my expectation that I got into the waitlist. 
My GPA: 

Science : 3.5

Overall : 3.6

TEAS: 83%
 

I got points for being local, healthcare worker ( I am a LVN) , bilingual. I think they really look into those supplements criteria. Goodluck to everyone who got in. I am happy to be in the waitlist ?

I’ve been following this forum but finally decided to comment since I got in.Congrats to all those who got in and hello to my future fellow classmates!
