Thank you for sharing your information with us! You’re stats are a dream for 99.9% of applicants. I wish you the best!

For those who haven’t hear back yet, do you guys have 2 or more additional points or criteria? Not including TEAS and GPA.

Oh no! I’m sorry. I know you’ll get in with those stats elsewhere @chesnot!! I have extra points for local, bilingual, community service hours.

The only additional points that I have are volunteer hours. I volunteered at 3 different organizations. IDK if I’m considered a local Bc it says on the website that only students from community colleges in the nearby counties are locals and I’m coming from a CSU.

Hi,

Update on my application. I wasn't able to update last week cause of my busy schedule and also being sad about the email I received. However, I did receive an update from them around 11ish in the morning last Monday. I got a rejection letter and it simply states that my scores and overall stats weren't high enough (excluding the personal statements).

Here are my stats if you guys are wondering or curious :

TEAS: 91.3%

Pre-req : 3.9 GPA

4 sciences: 3.8 GPA

Based on the information stated on their website (if you're in the contra costa district/county you're a "local"): I live in Brentwood which is 20-30 mins away from Concord.

I also had previous experiences as a care provider with more than 450hrs.

I hope that helps! I felt discouraged at first when finding out this news but I was hoping that this may help someone in the near future. It took me a week to come to a realization that things happen for a reason and I'm praying those who have not gotten any emails yet to get good news soon!!

Woooow. I’m so sorry that you experienced this outcome. Your stats are so very good, and I completely understand your disappointment, especially since you CLEARLY have worked so hard. Keep your head up though, I pray you’ll get into a program soon! Did you apply to any other programs?

3 different organizations is great! Did you have to fill out those volunteer packages 3 times?

my additional points are local, healthcare, vet.

that’s great! hopefully you’ll get in ?? And Yes I had to fill them out separately and have 3 different people write me a letter of recommendation. I wonder if they actually read those letters of recommendation or if they just look at the # of hours.

Your stats are really good! I’m surprised you got a rejection email. I have similar stats to you: 4.0 nursing and science GPA, 86.7 TEAS (I retook it and got a 93.3 after I applied, bummer), I went to a local community college, and I have been working at a medical assistant for several years. Sounds like we prob had the same points. They said in the informational session that as long as you have a 3.6 and 80 on the TEAS you get max points for those categories. It must be down to the personal statements then? Did they tell you if they read your statement?

Based on my understanding, it honestly depends. For my situation, they did not even bother looking at my personal statements because my score was low.

I haven't heard back yet- the only optional criteria I have is maximum health experience hours.

Wow! I had no clue that people transferring from a CSU or other university do not qualify for local points… even if they’re local! That’s crazy!

Someone on facebook emailed the nursing department and they said the result are expected to be sent out by the end of this week!
