Hello,

I am new here to allnurses.com so bear with me. I was wondering if anyone applied to the absn program at CSU San Marcos for summer 2009? Have you heard anything back yet?

Hey Amy Banes I'm from sacramento also. Its crazy to think I get to move so soon also, can't wait I hate Sacramento.

Hey Jimmy I'm flying down on December 9 the day before orientation to look around, and then have a few hours after orientation before my flight. I'm hoping it will be easy to get a place. I know I will have to find a place fast because I don't live in SO Cal and school starts so soon.

I'd love to meet up if anyone's interested before or after orientation. The acceptance completely caught me off guard this morning, but it's starting to sink in and I'm getting pretty excited! I was reading up on some of the wineries... which I will definitely become familiar with :)

But still, I'm anxious about this short notice moving thing!

Steph, since we're both making the big move, I'd love to meet up with you sometime. I actually live in Woodland, so as much as you hate Sac... I take any excuse to go there!

yeah, that rent would be wicked. I imagine the link you posted for the craigslist add was flagged already because it was too good to be true :) but i imagine it would be realitively easy to find a place for around that price. the more the merrier, it would be great to have a study group at home!

im intrigued to see how many guys are in our cohort. maybe you'll be the only lucky one! haha.

Hi there guys. Just wanted to create an account here and let people know I also go accepted into the ABSN program @ San Marcos for the Spring 2010 Cohort! I hope to meet all of you at the orientation! I myself JUST found out today. so relieved!

Hey Amy Bames,

I actually live in Folsom, but I would love to meet you before orientation. I have lots of relatives that live in Woodland, I was actually born there also. I'm going down on December 9 to look for apartments before orientation. I don't know what your plans are but I already rented a car. I'm flying into Ontario airport, it is the closests to Temecula. Its about a 55 min. drive from the airport. San Diego, LAX and Long Beach are all almost 2 hrs to drive to Temecula so I would check out Ontario airport if you are planning on flying. Let me know if you want to get coffee soon.

Stephanie

Hey Stephanie,

Did you go to Woodland High? I'm wondering if we went to school together. Anyway thanks for the heads up on airports, I think I'll be figuring out my flight today. I'd love to meet for coffee soon! I think I'll be in Sacramento tomorrow (sat), and also next Friday. Otherwise I have class until 4 mon-thurs, but I'd have no problem meeting up after that.

Amy Bernard

i was wondering if anyone was planning on working while we are in school? i know they recommend that we dont, but i kinda wanted to see what everyone else was doing.

Hey Sarah,

I definitely don't want to work... at least not until I have a good sense of the course load. Although I am getting worried about how much this is going to cost! At least I feel pretty comfortable that we'll be able to get a good job afterward, so I don't feel so bad about hiking up the loan amounts :)

im with you amy. i dont want to work either, but from what i can tell, our first semester is gonna be pretty low key. For me, I only have those 3 residency courses to take (nutrition, ethics, and that cultural class) I have already completed all the other grad reqs. I may try and work for the first semester just so im not up to my eyeballs in loans before the end of our first semester :) after that tho, i agree, the workload is probably gonna limit the amount of time we have available for work. Thats another reason why checking into a big house or something to rent for a big group of us would help a lot, less rent + housemates you go to school with = less stress and more fun! plus we'll all have to find some time to do a little wine tasting! :)

I would like to try working and school, but we'll see, same boat as you guys, i am totally down to look at houses the day before and after orientation, just let me know. If anybody is stuck and needs a ride from the airport to your hotel, then hotel to school just lemme know. I most likely would be able to help you out. speaking of which, if it's cheaper to fly into sna (johnwayne) and book a hotel there, that'd be easier for me, i'll jsut take you to the orientation with me the day of...

the day of orientation works best for me only because i work full time. Im taking the day of orientation off completely, so I would love to tag along if you guys check places out after. I'm 10 mins from Ontario Airport myself, so i'd be happy to carpool/caravan out with anyone from that area! you guys can email me if you want and we can kinda do intro's and start to organize places we want to check out as it gets closer.

it seems like the next 2 months is gonna drag by, but i bet with the holidays and everything its gonna be here before we know it!

Hey Sarah,

I am definitely planning on working while I am in school. I know that it is not recommended, but my boss is willing to work with my schedule and be super flexible. I also figure that if it is too much, I can always cut my hours. I was hoping that I wasnt the only crazy one that was planning on doing this!
