CSU San Marcos absn 2009

U.S.A. California

Hello,

I am new here to allnurses.com so bear with me. I was wondering if anyone applied to the absn program at CSU San Marcos for summer 2009? Have you heard anything back yet?

Hi!

I am applying for the Spring 2010 cohort, and I was wondering if you guys can share you statistics/scores! I am interested in finding out where I stand in terms of competitiveness in apply for the accelerated BSN program.Any advice would help too!

Congrats to those who have been accepted!

I applied for Spring 2010 as well. I am taking the TEAS today so should know those scores soon. My pre-nursing core gpa is 3.52 and my overall gpa is unfortunately only 2.7. I hope my TEAS test goes well to make up for my gpa.

THANKS!

Do you know anything about the competitiveness of getting into the program? Also, when do we find out? I know that it is not impacted, but I have a feeling there's going to be a greater rise in applicants because of the economy. I was told that there was going to be a "growing interest" in the program, but I'm not sure how many applicants they are anticipating.

Good luck on the TEAS exam today!

I'm not sure, I hope it remains unimpacted though. I'd be interested in knowing how many people have applied. Lets keep in touch about the program and hopefully we'll both get in!!

Has anyone else applied for Spring 2010 ABSN program? Or knows anything about the competition, pool of applicants, when we'll be notified, etc. I've submitted everything in, and I'm working on the last few classes I need. I know it's only begun, but the waiting game is no fun!

Hey, have you heard anything back yet? I also applied for Spring 2010 ABSN program.

Hello,

I called San Marcos a couple of weeks ago to confirm that they have received all of my stuff (application, TEAS results, transcripts, etc) and they basically told me it takes 6-8 weeks after they receive everything before they get back to you. The kind lady on the phone even went through all their files and told me that my application was on their desk and is waiting to be reviewed. They received my transcript on July 8, so I guess I'll get a response 6-8 weeks from that date. I'm still working on a few prereq classes, and I will be sending those transcripts in right after they are completed. I hope that helps! Let's keep each other updated with any news from the ABSN program, I know the waiting game can be no fun!

Good luck to the both of us!

It seems that the school is not taking student for spring 2010 for the generic BSN.

Is it the same for ABSN?

Really? Where did you hear that? If they weren't accepting for Spring 2010, wouldn't they notify us? I read somewhere that the Temecula campus is facing funding problems, but that's all I'm aware of.

Did you give them a call to double check? That would be horrible news if they weren't accepting any for the upcoming Spring. =(
