CSU San Marcos absn 2009

I am new here to allnurses.com so bear with me. I was wondering if anyone applied to the absn program at CSU San Marcos for summer 2009? Have you heard anything back yet?

good to hear sholey, im not crazy! :) im gonna work as much as i can till it becomes too much, its scary to depend soley on loans and financial aid!! you are lucky to have a flexible boss, i imagine im gonna end up in retail, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I'm not in the program or anything, but I go to CSUSM and live near Temecula. It seems like lots of you are disappointed about living in Temecula. It's actually a really nice town with lots to do and most importantly, freeway access-which is great since San Diego, Orange County, LA aren't too far ~

OH wow, I think I need to learn a bit more about this program I'm attending :) So have you taken one of the classes already online or what? Right now I'm actually taking Physiology, and I took nutrition last semester... so hopefully the first semester will be pretty light. Sarah I'm with you on the wine tasting! We may have to organize a Spring Cohort wine tour!

hee hee. well. i applied for the program LAST november, so ive known what class requirements we would need and made a point to take any class I could while i was still living at home with my parents. I took most of them online through the local community college which is nice cuz they are all pretty much GE classes. Just take a look at the requirements online and there are only 3 classes that you absolutely have to take through CSUSM. It also says on that academic eval thing they send you.

and hey, a wine tour sounds like the perfect way to relieve the stress of nursing school! Count me in!!

Hey Sarah Bames,

Next Friday works for me. My schedule is pretty open. Oh, and no I did not go to Woodland High, I grew up in Folsom and went to Folsom High. I'm probably alot older then you also. Almost 32, it seems like the rest of everyone is in their mid twenties. I only go to school on tuesday and thursday and I don't work. I'm surprised everyone is going to try to be working through school. I know I'm not!!! I not going to stress my self out even more. Does anybody know about that Family and children class we all have to take. I have everything. I still have not gotten the evaluation letter. All they sent me is the the same inforamation I got is the acceptance email.

you kinda have to keep on them about the eval. I got one when i first applied a year ago, then i asked them to send me another one after i completed a ton of classes. I have had a lot of contact with someone who's been really helpful. I'd call or email him and request they send you the eval. It tells you everything you need in terms of classes and what transfered where.

never got an eval, nor anythign in the mail, jsut an email. I think working and school is plausible, just need a flexible job. In regards to that family and children class, i was just taking a look at that..haven't done it, im sure they'll tell us more at orientation, i figure the first semester is when we should take all those other classes, btw, are all our classes gonna be graded so they count on our gpa?

Stephanie, I'm 28 so I'm not that far behind! Friday sounds good. I have a class until 11:00am, so anytime after that works for me. We can just keep tabs on this forum. Can't wait to meet you!

So I haven't received any eval sheet in the mail either. I'm wondering if some of the classes I've taken recently would transfer... I guess I better look into that. Thanks for the recommendation Sarah, I'll definitely be calling the school today. That would be really cool if I have some free time during the first semester... maybe I'm lazy, but I would love to spend that time exploring the area instead of working :) Of course I'm sure I'll be kicking myself when it's time to pay up later on!

Do any of you know if there's good hiking around there?

So I'm kind of a nerd for asking this... but does anyone here love Huell Howser as much as I do? He did a show from Temecula that I just streamed, if Huell thinks that Temecula is AMAZING... it must be true!

I'm getting excited :)

Amy, im not very familiar with Temecula at all. I love hiking tho, and it looks like there are plenty of places to do it so that would be fun to do some exploring!!

well i have no clue who Huell Howser is... but i have always heard temecula is beautiful, i just never thought there was much there except wine tasting and a casino :)
