CSU San Marcos ABSN Summer 2014

Hey Everyone!!

The wait is driving me a little crazy, so I'd thought I'd start a thread for anyone else who is applying! I won't be finishing my last pre-reqs until end of December, so I'm probably way too late for the Spring cohort. Is anyone else in the same situation? Let me know! I'd love to talk to anyone applying/interested/already in the program :)

Hi friends!

Transcripts and TEAS score were submitted in December and I'm still waiting on my initial evaluation! I called EL and the nice lady on the phone told me they're a bit behind with things due to winter break! Sigh.

Hopefully we all hear back soon! Fingers crossed!

@kristyyy thank you for the support! I got my final eval in September. Glad to know we are both in the same boat! If we are to believe what the school has told us, we should be finding out next week! Eek! I think we both have a pretty good shot :)

Do they mail a hard copy of the advising worksheet in the mail or via email?

Also does anyone know if it's possible to receive conditional admission if we have one final class in progress (before it's completed)? Assuming I get an A in my last class, I would have 37 points.

T

hanks!

Hi KMLSanDiego!

I was told that the only classes that can be in progress are those not in the pre-nursing core. So if any of the pre-nursing core is still in progress, they roll your application to the next cycle.

Good luck! :)

Ugh, that's too bad. Thanks lgripe!

@vaguayo I still hadn't heard back from my email I sent the other week about why is was showing my transcripts pending in mycsusm even though I sent them 1/13/14 so I called and spoke to someone yesterday who did confirm that they had them but it takes them awhile to notify admissions (who are the only ones to update that and remove it from the "to-do" list). Thank goodness I didn't waste my time and money to send another set. That shouldn't be a default setting obviously!..lame.

Yes, all, I'm wondering if since the application switched over to the longer $105 app. if the evaluation will be mailed or sent in an email?

lgripe... do you know how to petition this? I took statistics at a cc in Fla and really don't want to repeat.

I still haven't received my first evaluation, and I submitted everything in the beginning of December. I called to ask about the status of my application and the lady on the phone said she'd have an advisor email me about that (almost two weeks ago). I have yet to hear back...

How long was the wait to receive your initial evals? All my prerequisites are complete...I have no outstanding to-dos. This wait is pretty agonizing!

Hey! What they told me is that I had to get the syllabus from the course I took and email it to them, so they could have their math department look over it and see if it's comparable. I asked for an approximately timeline of the process and the lady on the phone said she didn't know because it was at the math department's "convenience" haha. Definitely email instead of mailing though! They take forever to open their mail.

Good luck!!!!

Hello! I talked to the clerk and she told me that my transcripts are finally in their possesion. She said it should take them about 6-8 weeks to send my evaluation letter ....i'm hoping it's less than that !

Just FYI it looks like this new requirement begins FALL 2014.

Check your emails...I just received my acceptance for Summer 2014
