Hey Everyone!!
The wait is driving me a little crazy, so I'd thought I'd start a thread for anyone else who is applying! I won't be finishing my last pre-reqs until end of December, so I'm probably way too late for the Spring cohort. Is anyone else in the same situation? Let me know! I'd love to talk to anyone applying/interested/already in the program :)
I know! That's the mode I'm in right now.... I'm sure you're fine if you've already received an evaluation! I haven't gotten my first one yet...
Here is the email:
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for recent interest to the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program offered through Extended Learning at California State University. We understand you are still in the process of completing your application but we wanted to reach out to you to advise you of a new math requirement for all incoming students in the ABSN program. Students will now be required to complete a Statistics course prior to acceptance into the program. Please understand courses such as Algebra, Calculus, etc. will not be accepted in lieu of taking the required Statistics course. Additionally, the course must be taken at a community college within the state of California or one of the 23 campuses within the California State University (CSU) system.
Recognizing many of our applicants to the ABSN program may not have taken a course to meet the new math requirement, we are offering a fully online Statistics course, Math 200, during the Spring 2014 semester. The course will begin March 15, 2014 and end May 16, 2014. If you would like to enroll in this course, please click here.
Should you have any questions about the course or the new requirement, please do not hesitate to call us at ------- or email us at ------.
@lgripe Hmmm...I really don't even know what to think anymore. I got my completed evaluation done at the end of July and it shows that all of my pre-nursing requirements are completed. I just emailed my advisor about it and hopefully will get some sort of response...my advisor has never been too great at responding to emails though. If you wouldn't mind, if you get any additional information about it please post and let me know! I am just wanting all of the waiting to end!
Of course! I got a call back while at work and they said that they only have a list of approved statistics classes at CC and CSUs, so I would have to petition, or pay $800 to take a two day online course through CSUSM. So I'm sure if you have already received an evaluation, that you are completely fine! :) I'm just kinda frustrated at this whole process and kinda freaked out when I got that email. It look like anyone who didn't get it is in the clear though! Good luck everyone :)
@vaguayo did you receive your first evaluation yet?@JNugget if you don't mind me asking, what is your score? Or what do you think your score is?
Nope ...;( I am still waiting for them to update my account with the transcripts I sent over a week ago through priority mail !! I will be calling them again tomorrow.

Although it's above the averages they have posted for admitted cohorts I'm still worried it's a little in the low side. That may just be my paranoia though! Have you gotten all your evals yet? Are you in the same ballpark points wise?

Haha... So did anyone get the email about the statistics requirement? It was already listed on the pre-nursing core requirements, but now in the email it says it had to be at either a community college or CSU..... I went to a UC for undergrad and am now freaking out. I called to ask, but of course they're in a meeting haha.. Ahhhhhhhh
