CSU San Marcos ABSN Fall 2017

Published

Hey guys!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2017 ABSN at CSUSM at the Temecula campus so we could all go through this process together and get to know each other! I know it's still early since the deadline isn't until March but I have submitted my application recently and I'm impatient.

So if anyone else has applied or is planning on applying, let's get a conversation going!

Good luck everyone!

Thanks! I'm hopeful, my paperwork is what really screwed me since I applied in February and they didn't let me know that my application wasn't complete until the first week of April.

But I asked and they said that the first and second round of acceptances have already gone out. Now they're just waiting on people to decline their offers if anything.

How long did you guys have to accept your offer?

I just checked my student portal and I was admitted today!

Hi Meltedvanilla, I just submitted my $150 deposit and was wondering what happens next. Thank you for the info. I'm so excited for this!! Woohoo! ABSN Fall 2017 Temecula!!

Hi jdwong, YEAH! Congrats. Me too!

Congrats to both of you! We're all just waiting to hear what's next. Come join our FB group! CSUSM ABSN Fall '17

I got my letter one of the last days of April. The acceptance letter said to submit your intent to register by a week of receiving the acceptance letter, basically a $150 dollar deposit. The very next day they sent a letter giving us some information such as applying to the FAFSA, orientation, fees and tuition, immunization requirements, and disabled student services. I haven't hear anything from the school after that. As for knowing if there is any spots left, the email didn't tell us so I would probably email the school.

I haven't gotten an e-mail from Extended Learning about any of that stuff... now I'm wondering if I should be worried? I'll shoot them an e-mail tomorrow.

Hi Guys-

Just came across this thread. I as well was admitted for Fall 2017 Cohort at Temecula! Congrats to you all!!

Just wondering if any of you have insight on how scheduling of classes will be and clinicals and if you've talked to anyone who has gone through the ABSN program or currently in it?

Hi, I got admitted to Fall 2017. Ice to meet you all! I sent a friend request on the Facebook page please add me to the group. Thanks

Hi All,

I got accepted to a school back east and now have applied to San Marcos as well because it will be easier on my family. I submitted my application yesterday (really really late I know) and I sent in my transcripts via PDF. On the to-do list there is a status column that says "initiated"- does anyone know what that means? I got a delivery notice from both of the schools I sent the transcripts from, but I don't know if San Marcos has received them- I think that "initiated" was something else prior but it was late and I don't really remember.

Thanks in Advance!

It probably means your application has been started and they need to review your transcripts to complete your evaluation. Our group only has 28 people in it so far, so they are still potentially admitting people for this cohort.

Any idea how many spots are left? Technically, the site says the cohort is still open. Wondering what might happen if I turn in an app by 7/20? Thanks!

Specializes in ICU.

In the summer cohort this year people were admitted right after our semester started, so who knows if spots are left or if people will choose to not attend, so it can't hurt to try!
