How many here has applied for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at CSULA?

I know it is a little bit early to talk about this, but I just submitted all of my grades, TEAS scores (ATI sends them to CSULA SON for you), and notification of health care work experience (dental assistant) from an employer.

It has been a long and anxious wait till April/May for letters of acceptance to come in, so I hope this thread can help everyone who is dealing with the same anxiety and stress that we are all dealing with.

So If anyone would like to share their overall "points" score, or questions regarding pre-reqs TEAS etc. I would be alright to share all of you mine, and answer some questions that I might know.

Thanks and godspeed everyone!

honestly, I don't have an answer for that. Because when the test was administered at CSULA, it was version 4. When I retook the test at rio hondo, only place that they recommended me taking it at, the test was version 4.

I think your best bet is not to say anything so that assessment would "go under the radar," because if it is acknowledged, as they assumed that it was version 4, you might do more harm to yourself than good.

But that is what I would do if I was in your spot. because for all we know, they could've overlooked that!

Hey Mr Suave, did you actually hear from Monica or any other employee from the SON about them accepting more than 50 students this coming pool? I'm curious because I just heard that all Cal States are getting a budget cut of 18%. :(

well I asked her, but she didn't give that information. So I asked my honors adviser to ask her. My honors adviser told me that it was slightly more than 50, however, that information was given to me in October of 2010. CSU's cut the budget all the time. There is no surprise with that. If you want, I could find out for you again, but my honors adviser has to ask, because they have "access" to that information as they have better connections to her than me.

I'll let you know the current status as soon as I can.

alright, keep me updated. :p

Hey All,

I am applying for the Entry Level Masters in Nursing Program. I have an interview this weekend. Does anyone have any advice as to what they ask or what specifically they are looking for? Has anyone gone through this process? Any information would be helpful, so that I can be prepared as much as possible.

Also, is the point system applicable to masters students? If so, where can I find the criteria?

Thanks All

So today I went to hand in my verification of employment letter. I spoke to Monica and she remembered my name and thanked me for sending in the scores so i guess i'm good =]

She went onto say that they still haven't been given the number of how many students they may let in, but as soon as they do they'll be able to start picking. Keep those fingers crossed!

I have a question.

I am applying for fall 2012 and I saw that there is a nursing course (plus sociology) that need to be completed before the first quarter.

How do we take that class if I don't attend there?

Whats your stats and where else are you applying?

I am applying for fall 2012 and if my grades come out the way I want them to, then i calculated 21 points for me too (i calculated in the 80's for the TEAS, I know i can score higher than that)

I guess volunteering pumps it up..or get a healthcare job??

that is only if you get into the program. if you get into the program, you would have to take soc 201, ntrs 250 or 317 along with your nursing courses for the fall

Wait I thought that it said you need

SOC 201 AND NTRS 250 or 317 BEFORE your first quarter of NS?

So before would be like what, the spring or summer before you attend...IF you get in...

Thats why i was confused...why take a course before hand if you don't know if you get accepted?

maybe i read it wrong?
