Hey everyone! I am going to be applying for Chico's nursing program for Fall 2020. Just wondering how everyone's application process is going and what their point standing is as of right now. I am very nervous but hopeful!

Which school is your top choice?
Same! I can't get most of Sac State's optional criteria. I like both colleges but I prefer Sacramento State just a bit more than Chico. I would love to attend either though because they're both great programs.

I'm planning on giving them a call or emailing them when I have a chance about this so I will update you guys when I have an answer on what to do about that.
This is the email I received from the pre-nursing advisor regarding this:
"Through your CSU, Chico portal account, while completing your Intent to Enroll, you should see an option to request a waiver of the $200 enrollment deposit as a nursing applicant. You can contact Admissions if you are still having trouble with this."
It was super easy, you just click accept and then there's a button that says exempt. It lists out reasons that you may be exempt and being a nursing student is one of them!

I think it's Enloe Medical Center (which is pretty close to campus), Oroville Hospital in Oroville, Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital in Marysville, and Mercy Medical Center in Redding. I'm not exactly sure how it is set up, but it lists these places as clinicals to register for in each of the 'Semester' sections of the Basic BSN part of Chico's Nursing School page. I thought students would all go to the same hospital for clinicals, but it seems like we have to register for a section at a specific place and that's the one we stay at. Not 100% sure on that though, It is a little confusing. The Chico School of Nursing page doesn't have any info on Semester 1, so I'm hoping things will get cleared up then
The anticipation is killing me! I wonder how Chico will proceed w/ clinicals given the current situation. I just got an email today, stating:
"This notification is being sent to confirm that your supplemental NursingCAS application for the Chico State Nursing program for Fall 2020 remains in our review pool."
Good luck to everyone ❤️

I received an email a few weeks back that we'll be notified on May 15th. (I hope I’m doing this right. First time replying).

No problem. I have been waiting to hear any news from the program. I wonder if cohorts will be pushed back.

Yes so many! The point cutoffs are always so high with chico! I’m at 90 points so I’m with you on that! I think last semester was about 93 points for the cutoff.... Who knows what this semesters will be though! Goodluck!
