  1. Yes, you need to accept the admission offer to attend orientation. You will choose whether you want to be in either the trimester/semester programs at orientation, and you will know which program you are in on the same day. There are usually more trimester spots than semester spots.
  2. I got an acceptance email but I declined my spot. good luck to you all, I am hoping for the best for everyone here.
  3. I don't get it either. It would have made more sense to tell us how many points the applicant at rank 40 has if they plan on admitting that much.
  4. I am considering on dorming as well but haven't completed the application yet. I still have to hear back from other schools I applied to so at this point it looks like I would have to find an apartment if I go to Long Beach. Still waiting on an official email from the school of nursing. I have been checking my email multiple times a day. ?
  5. Does anyone here know where some of the graduates of CSU Long Beach's BSN program end up working? Do they tend to stay within the area (maybe find work at some of their clinical sites) or do they move to different parts of California or other states? Long Beach is right next to LA and many people want to live there so I am wondering what the job market looks like for new grad nurses...
  6. Same! I can't get most of Sac State's optional criteria. I like both colleges but I prefer Sacramento State just a bit more than Chico. I would love to attend either though because they're both great programs.
  7. I was worried about my health care experience and language documents because they deviate a bit from the kind of documentation they request. I sent an email to Chico State's prenursing adviser and they told me that the documentation I submitted is acceptable, so assuming I didn't make any errors in my application, I will have 95 points. I applied to Sac State as well! Though I think I will be wait listed from their program. I feel as though they have a less lenient point system compared to Chico. Chico provides more of a leeway for what you can have in terms of TEAS score and GPA because a score of 90+ on the TEAS and a GPA above 3.75 gives you all of the points for those point categories.
  8. Yes, it's definitely pricey! The fees related to requesting transcripts (especially if you attended multiple colleges), sending TEAS scores, and the fee of sending the nursing application itself really add up when applying to multiple schools. You also have to keep track of all those deadlines! I did not want to put myself in that situation so I narrowed it down to 3 schools. I really admire and applaud your determination and optimism to get accepted into a nursing program! We'll get there.
  9. Hey everyone! I officially submitted my Chico State application! Depending on how they evaluate some of the documents I have submitted, I'll have around 90-95 points! But right now I am a bit discouraged though because I am just barely making the cutoffs for the programs I am applying to, so I am really worried that I won't get into any program this application period. Chico is a great school and I would be very lucky if I could attend. A very stressful time for us all, but I hope it works out for everyone in the end and I hope everyone is doing well amidst all this!
  10. I received the email at 5:09 PM.
  11. I also got an email for the communication exercise! I will be coming in from San Jose. Hope to see some of you there!
  12. Hi everyone. I am applying. ? My stats: GPA - 40 points TEAS - 22 points Optional Criteria - 7 points Total: 69 points I have volunteer experience at a hospital and have just completed a CNA program at my community college during the fall 2019 semester. I have been looking at the Sacramento State nursing program and have been lurking on the application threads for a while now (before I even began completing my prerequisites!) so I am really excited that I am now able to apply myself! I think I have a good chance at being accepted, and if not, then I hope I can make it on the wait list. I am also applying to Long Beach and Chico State, but will no doubt choose Sacramento State if I am able to get in. Good luck to everyone!
