Hey everyone! I am going to be applying for Chico's nursing program for Fall 2020. Just wondering how everyone's application process is going and what their point standing is as of right now. I am very nervous but hopeful!
I also created this forum just so we can all chat and help others if they have any questions. Although we are competing for a spot in the program, at the end of the day we all have the same goal!

Hi! I applied to Spring 2020 with 88 points. I doubt I'll get in with those points considering the past statistics. I'll be re-taking the TEAs in January for the Fall 2020 apps so I can increase my points for Chico and Sac State.
I am also retaking my TEAS in January for Fall and applying to Chico and Sac! I have 91 points as of right now for Chico (I'm hoping this will go up after I take my TEAS) and I'm not sure how much for Sac because they just changed their point system and I can't find the updated info on it.
I just retook the TEAS yesterday. After recalculating, I'll apply to Chico this Fall with 91 points and Sac State with 68-70/88 points, depending on how they evaluate my "environmental background" points (I received a Bachelors degree from Sac State and an Associates from Los Rios, so I'm not sure which one they will take into consideration)
Good job on your TEAS! Your standing for Sac seems pretty good too! As of right now I have 62 points for Sac but I'm hoping to bring that up from my TEAS. I think I have a much better chance of getting into Chico though, and financial restrictions would also make it a lot harder for me to attend Sac State than Chico which sucks. I think Chico is where I want to go anyways, but I still haven't completely made up my mind. Which would you rather go to if you get into both?
I live and work in Sacramento, so Sac State would be the "ideal" choice, however, I will go anywhere! Chico is also ideal because it is still close enough for me to commute or the option to move is great because rooms are way cheaper to rent in Chico. I would just need to work my weekends in Sacramento still =/
Ya a big plus for Chico to me is the cost of rent as well! I also know people in Chico that need roommates, but all my friends in Sac have roommates already or live at home with their parents. I wouldn't be able to move to Sac because I would have to work more than I would like, and they recommend you don't have a job if you're in the nursing program. I would either have to live at home and commute everyday, or go to Chico where rent is cheaper so I would be able to pull off working part time and still prioritizing school. I take my TEAS again tomorrow so fingers crossed
Update after TEAS: 94 points for Chico and 65 for Sac

Great job, sis!! 94 is excellent! the cut off last semester was 93 so you're sitting pretty!
Thanks! not much hope of getting into Sac, but I feel pretty good about Chico! Im just waiting on my volunteer paperwork to come through and then I can submit my application. Have you submitted all of yours yet? It costs so much money ? I've spent like $400 just on applications and sending transcripts and TEAS results
I received an e-mail from Chico. Seat offers will be made May 1- May 15.
