CSU Bakersfield

Did anyone apply to CSU Bakersfield? I applied for the Spring 2010.

it is killing me waiting here and knowing that i cant do anything about it. I think fall 2010 class is the first ones to ever have interviews so i doubt others cant help :[

You dont have to meet with ----- but maybe she can help you out with any questions you may have. Yeah I know what you mean, I really dont want to wait either...maybe I'll go see her and she can tell me what my chances are of actually getting in..lol..I'm just very impatient because I got into a private school and I would start in April but if I can get in at CSUB I rather do that. Are you almost all done with your pre-reqs?? I only have patho left which I am taking right now!! Do you know how the interview process goes? Does everyone go in for an interview then they give you score?? I believe I read that on the site but I could be wrong!!

I have been emailing to ask my questions. On the website it says that the lowest gap for fall was 3.25 and highest is 3.5 I only have chem and nutrition left for spring. Right now my gpa is 3.7 but I still feel very nervous that I will not get into the program. Where are you taking your patho class at is it hard? All I know about the interview is that it is worth 1-15 points

Your GPA is really good! I wouldn't worry about it too much!! Nutrition and Chem wasn't that bad..I did really well in both! I am taking patho at CSUB . So far its not too bad..we have an exam coming up next week so see how that goes!Where did you take patho??

I am going to a community college and have not taken patho so if I get accepted then I will start June 22 for the summer session. Are you already a CSUB student and taking patho cause you go there or is it offered at your local college? For the class do they expect you to retain ALL or most the info from anatomy and physio what are you learning there so far? How long is the class

Yeah I am a student at CSUB and Patho was one of my last pre-reqs I needed to take. For patho you should know the basic anatomy terms/organs/tissues just general stuff like that. As for physio, yes you should know physio!! Patho is about how to fix something if "something" were to go wrong...so you need to know the basic which is physio! My professor always tells us to refer back to our physio notes/books for a better understanding! Hope that helps!

thanks so much for the advice and help. If you dont mind me asking can you tell me how the area and school is there. I have never been down there so i am a bit nervous. Is the school big and is the area near markets and plazas and fun stuff or is it just kind of dead down there? Your applying to the fall 2010 class right? It would be great if we both made it I would actually know someone :]

lol yeah fall 2010!! Where do you live right now? Personally, I think CSUB is a decent school. Its actually really small compared to other campuses. This year is the only year where it seems like a lot of people are enrolled. Other years it seemed so dead on campus lol..A lot of people are transfering to CSUB like yourself so its growing!! Same thing with the town...Bakersfield is expanding believe it or not. If your coming from a bigger city Btown will feel really small to you. I used to live in Long Beach and it took me a while to adjust but over the years I've gotten used to the small town. The campus is located on the nice side of town, a lot of new restuarants, clubs, are in that area. We have a pretty nice mall, few movie theaters, hookah lounge (if you enjoy hookah..lol)..and lots more of the little things like mini golf etc.

I currently live in the san gabriel area 91776 626 haha and believe me i have never been up there. NEVER! I just know I need to take the 101 to get there and its about 2 hours from where i am. The place sounds pretty good i like the small areas. Can you tell me how housing works there i am so lost. If i get into fall 2010 and have to take summer classes i need to find a place to live do you know if they have any specific nursing housing building that will accommodate nursing students? Do you live on campus or off. sorry for the questions i jsut have so many :X

i sure hope so but. i forgot if i told you i got a 74.4 for the teas not so great but i will retake i am just nervous cause i really want it so badly but the interview might not go my way! I am just really glad to hear you got in. if i make it in we should all meet in Bakersfield and celebrate and get to know everyone i feel so lost i know like nobody!
