CSU Bakersfield

Did anyone apply to CSU Bakersfield? I applied for the Spring 2010.

oh, I assumed that you got a phone call, since you asked me about getting a call. Anyways, do you think summer quarter for the nursing program is going to be like a regular quarter or shorter then a regular quarter??

Well, the phone call was for out of are applicants...

summer qtr? I don't know... I've never been in a qtr system. I think it will be shorter for some reason. Did you begin CSUB fall 2008 and continued for winter 2009 and spring 2009? Have you taken summer courses over the summer 2009?

Ok, I'm going to Bakersfield on the 20th to see the place that I will be renting. Hopefully I can go to CSUB as well and speak with the advisor too. I want to ask if I got accepted or not by the 22nd of Dec.

I go to CSUB..which program did you apply for?

Hi...i see that you took patho at CSUB...I am currently a student there...and was interested in any advice/tips you could give me for Patho!

Thanks!

Hi... Thanks!

Yea, I'm in the traditional BSN program that begins this spring 2010.

As far as for Pathophysio, I think that the best way to study for that class is review everyday, errr well, that's what I do. I also read. I bought the book too, but I read that the book was pointless since the professor tests over what is lectured. Other than that, I use my photographic memory. I also read that many people find it helpful to tape record the lectures.

Good luck in class.

Thank You!

Few of my friends will be starting the spring 2010 program!! I never thought I would find people from my own school on this website!! =)

Best of Luck in the program!

No sweat, I think that the people who are going to begin in the spring need to have some sort of get-together though. I know only 3 people who are entering with me for spring.

Personally, that class was tough during summer quarter...It was hot outside and inside building (The classroom's heater and cooler had a mind of it's own.) The fire alarm system would set off frequently. And, new material was learned after 2 hours of class everyday. Not to mention tests were weekly.

If anything don't take the essay portion of the exams lightly. The professor actually grades those with a discerning eye, I remembered answering a question and I put the word "usually" in a sentence just because from previous knowledge professors would say theres no such thing as absolutes, and the prof. marked me off a point on that question. I was always a few points away from a darn smiley on those essays.

If you don't understand something...ASK ASK ASK ASK ASK a question. Make him repeat or review the situation after he's finished.

It's good to have the book because he sometimes puts pictures on the overhead that are not given as handouts.

Anyways that's all I could think of! Good luck by the way!
