CSN Spring 2015

Published

Is anyone applying for Spring 2015 Nursing Program 2015? I applied for Fall 2014 with 37 points and will be applying for Spring 2015 with 38 points. Does anyone have pointers for the application process? Has anyone gone to the limited entry workshop? I have been discouraged, and need some uplifting information.

Congrats everyone! I hope to be in your shoes this time next year! I'm hanging out here to be ahead of the curve lol.

I got the call around noon today. turned in my app with 31 points!!

For the first time on a CSN thread I didn't see anyone who was an alternate....I wonder what the points cut off for regular and alternates was?

There seems to be less people applying each semester making it less competitive. I think this has something to do with people spreading rumors that ADN educated nurses are unable to get jobs in Vegas which is absolutely false. I have heard this from multiple nurses who were educated at other schools. Yet I know that most CSN grads get jobs soon after grad.

Those of you who are interested in joining my facebook page (CSN nursing students rock) please send me a private message (I'm the admin) telling me who you are here. I have a bunch of people waiting for access to the page but I don't want to add everyone because they might be spammers. I've had a huge problem with that lately :(

I'm curious to know if any alternates were called today or the calling will resume tomorrow?

My friend was called for as an alternative... I think she applied with 34 points. Which is weird because I applied with less points than her and got offered a spot for full-time

I'm part of Christina's Facebook page. Helpful people over there!

Did she apply for part time. . I know they said it is more competitive than the full time track..

Yeah she probably went for part time. I know that your points need to be higher for acceptance into part time as oppose to fulltime. Fulltime was probably 30 whereas part time was probably 35 or 36.

No. For full time.

Christina,

have you graduated already? I have heard both CSN grads are highly respected and then I have heard that you absolutely need your BSN. I had one person tell me that her hiring manager PREFERS CSN people over the other schools. I have applied to both CSN and NSC. I still have 2 weeks to go to find out if I am accepted at NSC...but am torn. I am concerned about the pace and workload of going for the BSN. If I did the ADN, I still would get my BSN. But it is 2 years for ADN, 2 years for BSN(and a lot more work)

What's your take?
