CSN RN Fall 2014

Published

Hello All! So the time has come for a new thread for all of us applying for fall 2014. Anyone applying in March?

How long did you guys study for the TEAS test??

I failed the TEAS (to get in at colleges in CA) my first time, so for the next scheduled test I made sure I went thru the whole book, took me a few weeks while taking 15 credits... I was taking college algebra and Eng 102 at the time so I kinda glimpsed thru on those sections n focused more on the other sections that I knew I was more rusty on..

Congrats to those who got in. For the alternates, GO TO THE ORIENTATIONS and stay positive! I know several people that were originally accepted as alternates that will be graduating with me in December. There's always people that get accepted who decline their spot for whatever reason. I know someone who ended up finding out 2 weeks before classes began that she got a spot because someone dropped. Those of you that have been accepted, take the time now to be with your family, take a vacation, work extra shifts, and be a bum because once August comes you will be quite busy! And don't miss the orientations for any reason otherwise they can and will give your spot to an alternate!

The toolbox class is a TREMENDOUS help for care plans and math. The instructor is amazing...I had her for 101 and medsurg labs and I wish I had her for more classes. She also lets you sit in on her classes for future semesters in case you need to brush up. The math is a killer, I'm not gonna lie. You need to know how to do this crap in your sleep!

For anyone that's interested, I have a Facebook page called CSN Nursing Students Rock for anyone who would like to join :)

Thank You! That was exactly the information I needed :)

CONGRATS again!!! Is anyone interested in starting a Facebook page for our class? Im sure we all have lots of questions and will have lots to share. If anyone is great at the computer feel free to start it up, otherwise I will if there are no volunteers.

If you make a fb page, just make sure it is a closed group with one or two people as administrator to add people that they see fit. This is so you don't have a bunch of randoms on the page that don't belong. The group that I posted above is for all csn nursing students, not specific to a semester.

I applied in March and had 37 points and didn't get accepted. Anyone get any other news for the point cut off for Fall 2014?

I would call and find out why you didn't get in. Some people on this thread had way less points than you did. I'm not sure what the cutoff is though.

Would you happen to know what the point cut off was for the Fall 2014 selection? I applied with 37 points and didn't get an acceptance call. Needless to say it is pretty discouraging because many people I spoke with had around 33-35 points.

Any advice on what to do next or who to talk to would help.

Wow! That's what I thought as well. When my lab instructor stated she didn't see my name on the accepted or alternate list we were both in shock.

Yeah I can understand that you would be discouraged. There has to be a reason why you weren't accepted.

Lab instructor for what? Are you in the CNA program?

How many points did you apply with? I applied with 37 and didn't get a call.
