i absolutely love crocs!....out of all the shoes i've tried, corcs are the only ones that did not make my feet hurt. i think they are safe to work in. i've never had a problem with them, but some facilites don't want nurses to wear them so you should check with your facility about that. i do suggest watching out for the fake crocs. those shoes do not have any grip on the bottom of them, and if you step in anything wet in the fake crocs, you bottom will definitely hit the floor!...lol.....be blessed!
I'm still fairly new to the medical field and honestly I was always in soooo much pain after 12 hrs on my feet. It wasn't until I discovered the crocs that I finally got relief. I don't wear the ones with the holes in them for safety reasons. You could drop a needle through the holes. They are sooo comfortable.

Yeah I actually talked to my D.O.N. and she said if we would get the ones with out holes we could wear them so I went today and shelled out $39 bux on some without holes..

Apparently some hospitals are banning crocs because of the holes in them, but you can buy the ones without the holes. I had to pay $39 bux too, but they were worth it.

Our D.O.N. says that they learned than some inept nurse may drop a syringe and it might go thur the hole in her croc's. So we can no longer wear croc's with holes in them! Let me think about this for a while. LOL I can inset an I.V, I can give narcotic's, I can care plan a MS pt. and provide pt. teaching, but I am inept at keeping myself safe from dropping a syringe? What fool dropped a syringe into her shoe and made us responsible for her? This is how it happens....some one does something dumb....and we all have to pay for it.
