Hello,
I'm new to this site but am finding it really useful! I'm canadian but did my nursing degree in the UK, and I currently practicing in England. I'm due to sit the CRNE on the 7th October and have read some scary posts on its level of difficulty. I have the study guides and will continue to study for the next 8 weeks until I fly over to toronto to sit it. I'm extremely nervous....anybody got any further pointers for me????
I can't wait for my family to start our life in Canada pending me passing this exam (so no pressure Eh!)......and a new job in toronto would be great!!!!!
Good luck to all of those that are sitting it the same day as me!
I just phoned CNO and I was informed that I am booked for the October exam in Toronto. I will get the package 2 wks before the exam. 4 wks more to go! I am getting nervous.Any idea what time the exam will start and end?
Did they say package?? OMG, I thought it was only the card or pretty much the card plus the exam "rules".
I wonder why they need so long to send the "package". I know the card is printed by the CNA but still.
Hi, I'm pretty scare too but trying to take it easy, still waiting for the card, when I get it probably my anxiety will mount for the psychological thing.
IDK anything about classes in my area, but I was browsing the CNO website the other day and I read about a member who'll be going for one of those CNO hearings (good God spare all of us from one of those) because the person was distributing CRNE related material (copyrighted) in his private preparation classes, so go figure...if you find one of these people who play with already copyrighted content, certainly it will be worth it; although I find it quite risky too.
Good luck to every-1 :)

People pass all the time without taking "classes". I'd pay more attention to my proofreading skills and stop thinking about classes. Textspeak isn't permitted on the forum and will trip you up at exam time.

Hi Fiona59, sorry, what is "textspeak"????
Is it something like learning the question and the answer but not the reason behind it??

Text speak is abbreviations that people use like U, l8ter, smebdy, etc. In the exam and on official work documentation you will be expected to write clear concise English (or French in the case of Canada) unless the abbreviation is acceptable by the hospital

Hi guys, I'm getting a little bit concerned because I haven't received my card or any written confirmation from CNO with regards to the exam. I faxed my E1 in April, and I was told over the phone that everything was taken care of though.
I haven't called them again because the website indicates that people should call if the card hasn't been received two weeks before the exam. I really don't want to be a pest :)
I don't know why but my level of anxiety is mounting.
