Hello,
I'm new to this site but am finding it really useful! I'm canadian but did my nursing degree in the UK, and I currently practicing in England. I'm due to sit the CRNE on the 7th October and have read some scary posts on its level of difficulty. I have the study guides and will continue to study for the next 8 weeks until I fly over to toronto to sit it. I'm extremely nervous....anybody got any further pointers for me????
I can't wait for my family to start our life in Canada pending me passing this exam (so no pressure Eh!)......and a new job in toronto would be great!!!!!
Good luck to all of those that are sitting it the same day as me!

hi sonamona
if you want help studying and live in toronto or hamilton area contact http://www.care4nurses.org/ they are a legitimate organization and a suggested resource on CNO's website http://www.cno.org/docs/reg/41066_fsBecominganurse.pdf
this is a better option than taking classes from a private person

I disagree it is never worth it to cheat on any exam, cheating on the CRNE is against the professional and ethical standards of nursing. Cheating on the CRNE could very well result in unsafe care for patients. If you find one of these people who play with copyrighted content show some integrity... report them to the provincial regulating organization.dishes
Thank you dishes, yeah, I chose the wrong wording for my comment:down: I meant it's risky for both: the people who provide prep classes with copyrighted material, and maybe even for the students who attend: I wouldn't do anything that could put me at risk of being in trouble with CNO, and I wouldn't advise anyone to put him/herself at risk neither.
What I meant with "worth it" is that having access to the material on the exam could represent an advantage over the other test takers. However, this is relative: the people who go for the exam for a second or third time had been exposed to the CRNE already, but their chances of passing aren't higher than those of first time takers.
Unfortunately, there's no CARE4nurses in my city, that could be like: no one cares for IENs in Ottawa:crying2:

IMHO, if the exam is about 300 questions out of a really large pool, the probabilities of a person encountering many questions from the first time in the second exam are not very high. Therefore, the advantage in relation to someone that has never seen those questions is not unfairly high.
Good luck!!
Hi petgroomer. I got my identification card from the CNO today. It's not a "package". LOL It's just the ID card paper plus 2 pages of infos. I will be writing the exam at Toronto Congress Centre (650 Dixon Rd) with free parking too!!!
Book 1 starts at 8:30 until 12noon and Book 2 at 1:30 until 5pm. Lunch break 12-1pm. You have to be there half an hour before the exam.
I was looking for hotels around the area (Toronto Congress). The cheapest I found was around $85. So I'd just probably take a taxi on the way there and get someone to pick me up in the afternoon. I don't wanna drive in the morning as I'd probably be anxious.
Hey petgroomer, how is the study going?
