CRNE October 2010

Published

Hello every1,

I am going to take CRNE in October 2010. I need your tips and suggestions. I am registered with CARNA (Alberta board of Nursing) but going to take my exam in Toronto. I guess CRNE is standardized exam and is same all over Canada. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you

We've got one from Ontario too, loyal posted that her friend from Mississauga got her results and she passed!

Thanks for picking that up!

I know that Bradons mentioned that the pass mark is 65% is that out of the 200 questions...I'm curious and a bit confused as to how some ppl came to the conclusion that the pass mark is 118/182....if you can clarify that for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

It's all based on speculation. Usually the exam has about 10% experimental questions that don't count toward the final score. There is no way of determining which of the questions on the exam are the ones that aren't going to count. They don't typically put all of them at one end or the other, they mix them in with the "real" questions. (See previous posts in this thread, there was a discussion on this about 5 pages back.) I haven't seen anything firm and final about whether there were experimental questions and if so how many. IF there were 18 experimental questions, as has been suggested in a couple of posts, then 118/182 = 64.8%. But all of this conjecture is really not helpful and is causing a lot of misery. So maybe we could let it lie?

Good luck and all the best to those who have yet to hear whether they passed or not. Fingers crossed that us ontarioans find out this week!!!!

Congrats to those who have passed!!!

Mine score was so close I'm paying to have it hand scored as I have had scantron sheets like this put wrong answers down before. I did erase and change 6 answers on the sheet cause I got 1 ahead of myself and I'm thinking that could have been the problem. It's 40 bucks.

I'll encourage you to do that Bradons. Hopefully there'll be some luck. Best pf luck. Still awaiting ours in Ontario.

So sorry. I pray the results come back positive. Please, let us know how it goes.

Hi all, I am still waiting for results, I know I have failed, I found the exam very, very hard despite lots of revising.

I am an IEN and have been a nurse for many years but have decided not to retake in February so will be looking for a job in a totally new area, its scary as nursing is all I know but exciting too! Is there anyone else out there who has decided not to retake? Good luck to everyone who is waiting for results.

Hi Everyone

I'm from Saskatchewan and from what I heard, ppl are starting to get their results. So far all have passed. This is my second time witing and a LITTLE nevous to get my results. PAssing mark was 63% for June, so I'm kinda nervous to read the passing is 65% this time around. For those wondering about experimental questions, there were 9 on the last exam. A max score of 191 and the average was 121 and I got 120. So I'm crossing my fingers. Good luck for all those who are still waiting.

Camilleg......dont say you have failed. you may never know when your results come out. Be positive. I understand that you are an IEN, I have friends who were IEN trained and they passed it. So dont give up yet...till the end of it.

Dont loose hope.....focus on how you will study in case you have to retake it again. Are you in the Ontario province.

Good Luck to you:)

I'm from Toronto Ontario and this is driving me crazy!! I've been just looking out of my window waiting for the mailman to come!

Be patient, and very soon all of us in ontario will get our results. we only hope for the best.
