Hello every1,
I am going to take CRNE in October 2010. I need your tips and suggestions. I am registered with CARNA (Alberta board of Nursing) but going to take my exam in Toronto. I guess CRNE is standardized exam and is same all over Canada. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you
Camilleg......dont say you have failed. you may never know when your results come out. Be positive. I understand that you are an IEN, I have friends who were IEN trained and they passed it. So dont give up yet...till the end of it.Dont loose hope.....focus on how you will study in case you have to retake it again. Are you in the Ontario province.
Good Luck to you:)
Hi Ladydodo,
Thanks for your post.......honestly I am fine with not passing, still no results today though! Maybe tomorrow! I am in Nova Scotia.
I have made up my mind about not retaking it, I already decided that it would be a one go deal for me before I took it! I am not prepared to pay out again and study even more, right or wrong to me it is not worth it. I have been a nurse in the UK for many years so really am fine with saying goodbye to it all, would love to be at home more with my children anyway so will find some part-time work doing something, just don't know what yet!
Congratulations to you for passing! What area of nursing will you be working in?
Hey Everyone :)
Congratulations to all those who passed. The waiting was horrible. For those who didn't make it....it sucks, but please don't feel too discouraged. Just try again, and you'll have it next time. I passed. Got my results this afternoon, and I'm in Toronto.
However, as I went over the exam in my mind over the last six weeks, I couldn't help but feel that the CRNE is very subjective, and 200 questions aren't really indicative of what we know, or the amount of work that went in to four years of school. I am extremely grateful that I passed, but I do realize that it might have gone either way.
Have a great week! So happy that at least the wait is over.....
Congrats to everyone that passed!!! I'm proud to say I passed too!!! Now we gotta pay the registration fee so we can add RN to the end of our names!
For those that were unsuccessful, don't give up!!! They give out 3 tries, so take it 3x if you have to... just don't give up!
Also, if money's not an issue, take those review classes... they help. I didn't take any but most of my friends did and passed as well. I couldn't afford it so I borrowed review books from all my RN friends... so old ones and new ones... practicing test taking helps... the info is already there in your mind, you just need to make sure you don't get caught up in the multiple choice.
I did not make it. Please, can you all who made it tell me how you studied, which prep classes you took and the contact. I live in the Greater Toronto area (GTA)I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks.
So sorry to hear that you did not make it. Be strong and dont lose hope, keep on working hard. :heartbeat
just recieved my mail and i passed!!!!!!! glory be to god...... and for those who did not make it be strong and study towards the next exam, i failed the first time around, so took a prep class with the toronto school of health, and it was worth it. i hope this helps. good luck and congrats to all those who passed and good luck with your careers. may the good lord bless you all.
