CRNE October 2010

Hello every1,

I am going to take CRNE in October 2010. I need your tips and suggestions. I am registered with CARNA (Alberta board of Nursing) but going to take my exam in Toronto. I guess CRNE is standardized exam and is same all over Canada. Please correct me if I am wrong.

ok everyone, i know waiting for results is frustrating but taking it out on others and performing personal attacks is not going to make the wait any easier. venting is ok but attacking other members is not

personal attacks

our first priority is to the members that have come here because of the flame-free atmosphere we provide. there is a zero-tolerance policy here against personal attacks. we will not tolerate anyone insulting another individual's opinion nor name calling and will ban repeat offenders.

terms of service

if you take the time to look back at previous crne threads you will see that cno are generally the last to post results out and that the messages passed on do vary when people phone them. phoning up isn't going to make the wait any easier either as the personal on the phone may not even know what is happening in regards to posting results out. as this has been happening for a while i doubt things will change in the too distant future although it may change eventually.

believe me i was in your shoes only a few months ago waiting for my results although it was a different province so i am aware how frustrating it can be but the results will come when they come so hang in there, try to be patient and good luck

I just called CNO and they said it is going to be mailed end of this week.

But if the results will be sent on the of this week, we'll receive them past the deadline for the feb exam, am I right?

Good question, and yes we'll receive them past the deadline. So I want to believe that the results have already been mailed. More to that, I also think that people who want to register for February could have an extension if they wrote in October. Don't think those writing for the first time will get an extention though.

I'm surprised that people from provinces other than Ontario still haven't received their results.

I'm not a 100% sure about it but I've heard of people who got.

why is it important to know about february deadlines? if we fail october, dont we have to wait 6 months before taking the test again? so we cannot take it in february anyways...

And concerning the CNO, answering phones about peopel presenting the exams is part of their jobs and it is our right to call. Renewing licenses is also part of their job. I offered a simple solution for them to post updates on their website but they dont do it because they want to fake the fact that they are busy.

You don't have to wait six months to retake the exam if God forbids you don't make it. You can retake it in Feb.

I don't know about the public holiday coz my daughter's school will be opened tomorrow.
