CRNE October 2010

Published

Hello every1,

I am going to take CRNE in October 2010. I need your tips and suggestions. I am registered with CARNA (Alberta board of Nursing) but going to take my exam in Toronto. I guess CRNE is standardized exam and is same all over Canada. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you

I really don't know about other places. I think PEI results were out quickly because we were only 16 candidates that took the exam on the day. I really did not mean to scare anyone . Let us all try to remain positive

If the pass mark is 118 and 20 experimental q do not count then the pass mark is 65%???

If i remember well according to the instruction sheet for the CRNE October 2010, if I read correctly they were no experimental questions this time.

Ha ha the time has come...........im anxious too death.

:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeatI believe we made it...............GOOD LUCK to all :heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat

 Ontario, Ontario, Ontario, Ontario.............any results yet!

Please let us know when results start rolling in!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:hn

Hi all, i took the recent october crne in PEI and iam afraid of my performance now. A friend of mine that i wrote the exam with just picked up her result on thursday and she did not make it. She said that the pass mark was 118 questons. ie abt 60-61%of the questions has to b right. Am afraid mine will take longer cos i had to travel from Ireland to go and write the exam in PEI canada.Good luck to u all , let us all keep hoping 4 the best cos there is nothing we can do now

Thank you tracy12, for letting us know this valuable info. All the best to all!:redbeathe:redbeathe

Oh wow!

I was actually feeling good about this whole thing! Right now I am know I should be thinking positive, it is just very hard because it was my second time I am having some doubts. I hate how each province gets theirs at different times and Ontario always gets the shaft, receiving theirs last :crying2:.

Like the previous post said "think positive". We can not dwell on the past, we can look toward the future.

I hope everyone receives good luck within the next couple of days and if we do not, it is not the end of the world.

Hi ladydodo, those of us in Ontario will surely wait longer because I read threads from people who wrote in June and it seems like Ontario always receives their results last. Guess it's because of the population.

I want to think it this way. If 20 experimental questions do not count, and 60 % is the passing mark, then I only need 108 correct answers to pass. Do I have 108 correct answers:confused: Dear God, please help us....

108 without experimental questions is 54%. If it is 60% then it can't be 118, rather it'll be 120/200 making it exactly 60%. 118/200 is not 60% but 59%.

Yeap we tend to get ours later for sure, for the Feb 2 2010 exam they received their results on the 11th March 2010 in Ontario, so hopefully we get ours early too. I cant wait longer......I have no money, I have to start working soon lol.

Tracy12,

Where did your friend pick up their results from? In which province did they write the exam? Hopefully, all the results will be out this week.

Best of luck to everyone!

I think its 118/200........59% :redpinkhe:redpinkhe:redpinkhe lowest. According to janrnf pass mark ranges from ( 59% - 68%).

I am trying to be optomistic and think if I pass, when will I be able to start working?

Will I have to pay no get another licence for 2010, then register again for 2011?

I am just confused as to how that works.

I think you just have to register for 2011........because we only left with Dec.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Depends on when the province renews it's license. For me in NS I passed in Jun paid for license which lasted until Oct 31 and I have had to then pay out more money for 2011 license. All in all has cost me over $1300 roughly to sit exam and 2 licenses this year

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PCVICU and peds oncology.

Does it really matter? Very few people will actually get a numeric grade. It's pass/fail, people.

Results are mailed out. This person would have "picked up" the results letter from his/her post office mailbox. PEI is a VERY small province (about 2200 square miles, with a population of about 141,000) and door-to-door mail delivery isn't available in most communites.
