Anybody who will be taking the CRNE on October 5, 2011, please post your comments and suggestions here like making a study group, sharing notes, meeting at the library or anything that will help the examinees pass the examination. Thanks!

I was unsuccessful for my second time on October 5th, 2011 (107/114) and like everyone else I DID a lot of reading, answering questions and taking prep course with PRIMEMED in Kingston. even a fellow RN studied with me for couple of weeks. Still looking forward for my third and final attempt (but scared to death)

I will write my final in June 2012 because obviously I have no time to study enough for February exam. Its only 2.5 months left till February 2012 and I am planning to work just to pay my bills. So june 2012 it is. You know its kinda frustrating seeing your friends working full time already and myself cant pass the exam for the second straight time.

I will do some things differently now: I already signed up for Toronto School of Health RN prep course, will download those prep infor for RN exam from FreshNurse website, and going to study again and again for 6 hours per day with ZERO distractions. Well, Something you have give up right??? whatever it takes to pass it.

** For those who passed, DO you studied alone or with a group of two/three people? Is it helpful to study as a group?

** And also, is the exam harder in June? Thanks

i heard the exam is harder in june. The passing grade is usually lower because the questions are difficult compared to the exam in october...not sure about feb. (this is what i heard from other people. not 100% sure)

Hi I also gave the exam 2nd time and failed. I have joined the toronto school of health... I am planning to give the exam in feb...

I scored 109/114... I am planning to take off from work and study hard this time again.

Can you let me know if "Toronto school of health" is helpful for you at the end of competition of this prep course ? Prons and Cons? And also good luck to in Feb.

I am going to write it in June... I am so anxious about writing it in February :(

Hi God4Me and 4Change:

I am so sorry for the unfortunate news this time around??? Please do not loose any hope, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, trust me. I was in the same boat as both of you last year, I failed the crne x2 consecutively and I had to make a really critical decision whether to do the exam in February or June of the following year. I spoke to one of the coordinators at the CNO because I was so devastated about me failing twice. this person suggested me to take my time and study the contents of the exam throughly. I felt like both of you, rushing to send my money to the college and study again asap, I wanted to get my license. But I thought again and had a feeling that I should wait a little longer, work harder and throughly study the competencies, do a bunch of questions until I got it and do my best. This is what I did.

I am not suggesting you do the same thing, but I will suggest to you is to self-assess yourselves before you take a decision and see where you need improvement and come up with a realistic time frame where you can say confidently that you are ready to take the crne exam and then make a decision. Trust your instinct!!!

Crne exams all three Feb-June-October have same level of difficulty. They are testing all same competencies. No difference. None of them are easier than the other.

Have you actually read the posts to this thread? Or to any of the other CRNE-related threads? The deadline is extended for those who failed the most recent exam. This information is available in several posts.
