Hi guys!
To all of you who took the CRNE last February 5, 2014, do you have any idea how many weeks should we wait for the results?
what could be the passing score? The exam was not an ordinary exam. I mean most of the cases are new (not the common dx of arf, crf, copd,mi etc). Also, the situations are not like for new Rn graduate.. I think you should have experience working in a hospital setting or special units because some of the questions are more of the routines in a hospital..not for nursing knowledge, anyways, good luck to all of us! In God, we trust!
Hi everyone, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to us all, well done, the hard work has paid off ! thank the dear lord. Big thank you to everyone at the respective colleges for putting up with us all on heckle pins, we didn't have to wait too long after all ! good luck to all the guys in BC who may still be waiting.
Hi Janfrm, yes, I thought long and hard about what was the best way forward, I tried to listen to the IENS I met at the RNPDC and also to the one's I worked with on my clinical, I took on board both the positive and negative experiences that they had on their journeys and tried to apply some of their points to my journey.
Nursing is tough, we have many issues here in the UK, in many parts our Healthcare System is in absolute crisis with limited funding, not enough skilled staff, low staff morale and demoralisation and high mortality rates, our NHS is definitely not what it was when I did my training way way back in 1986, I have seen so many changes and unfortunately not for the best, but, I love nursing and I will always give a million percent to everyone in my care (as 99% of us do), for Scotland there may well be huge changes ahead if Alex Salmond gains independence and again maybe not for the best, where's the money going to come from for a new Scottish healthcare system, new army, new passports, new border control agency, new currency etc etc etc !!!
I guess Canada like all countries has issues, but for me, you guys have amazing hospitals with phenomenally knowledgeable and professional staff, I really was overwhelmed by the staff I worked with on clinical placement, I came away having learnt so much and determined to apply the lessons I learnt to practice here and having that experience has definitely improved my nursing practice.
For me, I just hope when I do arrive Canada with my knowledge and skills that some employer somewhere will offer me a job, I'm in my mid forties now and having put off having a child until my late thirties I will be happy to work part time 24-30 hrs per week and hope that I can be a productive member of the team and if I dont get a nursing job, then I will do whatever job I'm offered to make ends meet ! we have a saying in Scotland "whats fur yea, doesnae go past yea" meaning if its meant to be, its meant to be and I hope that for me my dream of being a Canadian nurse will come to fruition soon. I hold Canadians in the highest regard, you have a wonderful amazing country and people, thats why so many of us IENS want to come and join you all !!
Have a wonderful day.
