World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi everyone, Im an Irish nurse preparing for the CRNEs for February 2012 in Toronto. Didnt see any thread for this exam in February, so thought id start one. How is everyone preparing? Im using the CRNE prep guide doing Qs and studying the competencies. Any tips/advice? Happy studying!!

Hi everyone!

Congrats to those who passed and for those who were unsuccessful i wish you luck and hope everything works out.

For those who passed living in toronto where can i get a CPIC check? Do I have to bring a form to my local police department (if yes, where can i get this form) or do I just go to the police department and request for a CPIC check/criminal record synopsis.

Thanks!

You go to the Toronto Police and they have the forms there. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to receive the CPIC in the mail. Make sure you request 2 copies of your CPIC in case one gets lost. Also, when sending your documents to the CNO (or any important documents, for that matter) it is worth paying the extra for registered mail to ensure they receive them. I would never recommend using regular mail for important documents.

Thanks so much!

You're welcome :)

ngup, my peers and I did not complain as rules and regulations were in place throughout the completion and grading of the exam, which needed to be respected. I'll leave it at that, as this discussion is becoming off topic.

By all means, voice your opinions to CNO if you feel the need to do so. However, I think it is wise to consider, and prepared for how your regulating body might respond to your concerns, and/or your exam results. It may or may not be what you are hoping to hear. As harsh as it may sound, CNO could very well prevent you from becoming a Registered Nurse if you are unsuccessful after three attempts at the CRNE. This is one of the avenues used to ensure that the nurses in Ontario are competent in their practice.

Here is the link to order it online and pick it up at your nearest police station.

hi silverdragon102,

You are not the person who is suppose to be judging us regarding when we should be complaining to CNO. We have a things to say CNO if we have or haven't complained before or after the result. So, try to put yourself in our shoes then talk about this situation. If you can't then you don't have a right to say whatever you wanna say.

I have sat in your shoes and there was a few distractions when I sat my CRNE, may not have been a fire alarm going off but there was still distractions. I passed as did many others. I am not judging you what I am saying and will more than likely be what the provincial college will say is you should have complained a lot sooner that now.

(there were 11 Code Blue or met team calls, which are announced following a claxon sounding to get people's attention, today alone, never mind the usual alarms), you are correct you never said that, you just post the comment! HA HA HA.

Show a little professionalism MattJoey. You can have disagreements and debates with people without being disrespectful or sarcastic. Comments like that don't add anything to the conversation.

Back on topic. Congrats to all who've received their results.

I'm still anxiously waiting for my exam results-eek-I hope it comes in today!!!!!

got my results here in BC! :)

hey joanna73, ok, firstly, whether we have complained before or after failing doesn't make any difference in our result since we had done our exam. and yes, i have the reasons to say why i did/didn't complain right after the exam. mind you that we are not looking for sympathetic in this situation, we are voicing our right in here. you know when you should bring the word sympathetic? you should bring it when there is no environment distraction and if we failed because of not studying and preparing well in our exam. but i did everything (basically sacrifice myself to this exam) that i can and you can't say that i didn't prepare well without really knowing my hard work and how i sacrifice my life to this exam. we did our job by preparing well for the exam and cno job is to provide us quite environment so that we can focus. i took full responsible in studying and doing everything i could just to sit in this very important exam to be successful and i don't have any control over distraction which had affected me. you can't just say that we have two more opportunities to write without really knowing how many opportunities i/we have left. so, please write comments to us with good thoughts before typing something in here.
