CPR/AED recertification~Where do you go?

Published

Well, My facility no longer has a trainer for CPR/AED and I need to re certify. I would like to do this online but there are so many and I don't want to just pick one because it Say's it's accepted. I was hoping someone could give me a few suggestions as to where I may be able to re certify online for NY state. I would like the health care certification not basic. Thanks

Stick with the ones that teach the American Heart Association standards.

They're the most accepted nationwide.

If your employer requires the certification as a basis for employment, they should then provide (i.e. pay for) the training. It would be up to them to provide the resource and time/dates for recertification and to allocate time for you to attend the sessions.

Trying looking up the Red Cross in your area, I know the Red Cross in my area always has all kinds of different classes going on.

I always renew at a local volunteer abulance corporation. They usually have classes all the time. American Heart is what I take.

You can take part of it online but you must display the skill set in front of an instructor certified to teach the health care provider CPR in order to get the card; that's the way it is in my state. I just re-certified and the new CPR is CAB ... It cost me $65 and the class took about 1 hour because there were only 2 of us and it was like the 16th time both of us had re-certified. Had a blast though. Maybe it was longer then an hour but it sure went by fast.

Go with a class that does the American Heart. I have found in the past that the Red Cross is paper work crazy. The AHA does a good job with their new videos on the new CPR which is now C-A-B. Ah ... so much fun.

Try your local Fire Department. I just recertified for $30.00. It is the new program C-A-B.
