I am scheduled to take my CPNE @ Grady Memorial on 1/9,10,11/09. I am looking for anyone who has tested there and would like to share some "insider" information, lol. Really simple stuff, was the lobby hard to find? What did you do in the evening? What did you think of the testing site in general? Basic stuff. I usually do better with anxiety when I have had someone give me a briefing on the place I am going. Thanks in advance!!!

Did you check the EPN yet? I know I've read reviews for Grady on the CPNE journals section.
I didn't see a journal section, I will have to check it out again. Thanks!!

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck! I'm a great admirer of your program and I know what you've gone through to get to this point. I wish you continued success, and I'm eager to hear of your success and your experiences with CPNE.

Oh, definitely get on the EPN!! Great journals there.
Go here: https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/My_Excelsior_College/Electronic_Peer_Network/Discussion_Boards -- you might have to log in at that point.
Click on "Nursing Discussion Boards"
Click on "Associate Degree Level Nursing"
Click on "Clinical Performance in Nursing Examination - CPNE"
You should see two boards there: one is called "Clinical Performance in Nursing Examination - CPNE," where CPNE study/discussion takes place. SPEND TIME THERE. Seriously.
The second board is "CPNE Journals." Most student title their journals by where they tested, so you should find some Grady entries there.
Also, on the left-hand menu, if you click on "Discussions" (second item down), it'll pull up all the available boards, and show at the top if you have any unread replies.
The EPN is a great tool!!
Thank you for the link, I used it and read everyone I could find!! Thanks again!!
You're welcome, T! I am so excited for you -- you are almost done! :) :) :)

Hello
I am very close to finishing up this program and I live in Georgia. Do you live in Georgia? How long did it take you to get a date for the CPNE ?
By the way congrats!! This program is very hard and take a lot of self discipline. I will do my victory dance for you when you complete the CPNE.

i worked at grady and can give you some insight. it is a beat down, inner city level i trauma center straight out of a movie. i loved working there. we called 'em dog years: 1 year of grady experience = 4 years of regular experience.
i have heard that you are less likely to fail at grady for penny anny stuff, but ymmv. the area directly around the hospital is iffy, so cab it, shuttle, or drive. i wouldn't walk if i wasn't familiar with the neighborhood. i am making it sound worse than it is, but you do need to be careful. med surge floors are busy, and they have sick, but interesting cases. i am not sure how they work in your peds cases as they are seen across the street at hugh spalding children's hospital.
anyway, you should enjoy it. everyone should do time at grady.
the person here to talk to i think would be gradyrn2b08. they recently took their cpne at grady and passed.

I don't live in Georgia, I am in New Port Richey Florida. I applied on July 18,2008. I got my date first part of November. I got a cancellation date.
Thanks again!!
