Congratulations!! My advice: know the critical elements as well as you know your own name. :)

memorize your critical elements! get the flash cards from ec, but don't neglect the read your study guide very well. know your areas of overriding care, etc.

I truly appreciate all your information you have placed on this web site - thank you! g
I turned on 12/21/08 and it approved 2/15 (I had to get 2 MMRs which messed me up time wise).
I only chose to test in Amarillo, Texas due to relatives (EC RN graduate) in area...... so I have waited 5 long months to get a date. Last week, EC said they had scheduling problems with that site is why it was taking so long.
What EC do is they call you first, then e-mail you your specific date, which all happened so fast today!

Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there but I have a few more tests before being CPNE eligible. I went on to the CPNE site and I don't even know where to find my immunization record. How do I go about getting one?

I am scheduled October 24th in Amarillo. I will let you know how that goes. I am nervous.
Well I wish you the best. I just made my flight and hotel arrangments and have highlighted/tabbed my Nsg dx book, now working on the grid plan. Oh boy...gotta get through this... Let me know how it goes. I test 11/7.

I did my CPNE yrs ago and these pieces of advice helped me the most:
Your CPNE is not a vacation. Leave children and husband at home. Remind yourself you are there to do one thing--pass the CPNE.
Don't eat meals or socialize with other CPNE candidates. They will all discuss rumors and past stories of CPNE and freak you out.
Once you feel you know your critical elements inside and out, start studying them again.
Take your own pen, penlight, calculator and any other tools you may be using for critical elements. You can burn up 10 mins of your precious time looking for a penlight.
If you fail a station, learn from it but block it from your mind. Start fresh at your next pt. Stay focused.
Good luck!
Thank you for the info. I can use all the tips that I can get.
