What would you do if you had a colleague that opened patients’ room windows during inclement weather? For example , the other day it was quite cold, cloudy and rainy and someone had opened up all the windows on one unit. A similar happening occurred during Winter when it was very snowy out. In both instances, some of the rooms got very cold, almost to the point of being freezing. What would you do about a colleague who does things such as this? In our case, we don’t know who is responsible (yet) but wondering about the best approach should their identity become known

Or a simple team announcement at the befog the shift-“don’t touch the widows nature boy(girl).”
I have a hard time believing half the posts I’ve seen lately. Either people are bored or they’ve gone covid crazy.
Who needs covid to go crazy ?????????

I think whoever has been doing it probably thinks they are playing a prank, but it's not really funny when many of our residents are very vulnerable to the elements and prone to getting sick.
You are completely ignoring the fact that being cold, wet or even cold and wet does not make people sick. If It did most cub scouts would die off before becoming Webelos. People get sick from being cooped up in warm (Stuffy) envronments that allow germ's to proliferate. Germs no like the cold.

You also can't room a true Irish Celt in a room where someone is actively dying as the soul of the departed can grab the soul of the living and take that person with them.

Davey controls them by making them watch reruns of a show that has a DJ from Cincinnati. I don't understand the connection but are you going to tell them? ???
No I'm more of a Horse and dog lover - I'll leave the big cats to you!

Then again, you have to do so because the rooms become freezing when the windows are opened when it is 30 degrees or less outside, making the residents very cold.
Hold a staff meeting. Form a committee. Ask patients if they saw someone open the window.
For the record, fresh air can be refreshing.
This is probably someone having hot flashes. Check out females from about 35 on up.
Of course, men sometimes flash, too.
