we may not hear anything at all today. the last time i spoke with my recruiter about two weeks ago, she said that results can take up to the first week of december (which i'm hoping won't be the case). but yeh... everyone just hang in there! we're all in this together. =]

Well, I just spoke to my recruiter and he said there 'is no word yet...' just have to keep waiting... hopefully the results will be released in the next few weeks... could take up till the first week of December... Said it might have something to do with the large number of applicants. I am a MO RN.

Has anyone started a facebook page yet for COT 2010? Maybe we can make it a january / march COT page since so many of us are still unsure of which month we are going? What are everyone's thoughts? I can try to start one?

A COT 10-02 (January) Facebook page was started. Not sure about a March one. If you search for it I believe it's under AF COT 10-02 or something along those lines.

OK I was too excited so I started a facebook page for both classes - march and january. It's a "page" on facebook titled "AFCOT 2010." I hope it works!!

Haha Seekir RN - just got your post!

I would like to confirm with anyone details about loan repayment. My recruiter told me to have the promissory notes ready when I leave to COT. Are the loans paid in a lump sum when we are in COT? Is that what everyone else is hearing?

I'm not sure about the loan repayment program - I am going into his office today to sign some paperwork related to loan repayment but when you say promissory notes - do you mean a copy of your pormissory notes from your original loans? Thank for your help!

Are you talking about the HPLRP paperwork? These are the papers that you signed that stated you would be taking the loan repayment and you would be adding 2 years to your commitment (i.e total of 6 years). Your recruiter should have a copy of these. Mine sent a copy with my package to the board.

I was told that the you would apply for a military deferment from the loan issuer and the military would then send a check for the amount of loan repayment. I could be wrong though. I wasn't really clear on whether it was a lump sum or a couple of payment over the next 4 years. Hope this helps!

Your loans will be paid out in a lump sum, but not until you reach your first duty station. It takes about sixty days for your service to be verified by Air Force Personnel Command (you'll hear "AFPC" a lot) and then poof - your balance will disappear.

Yes, you must request them from whoever your loans are with, the number of promissory notes you have depends on the loan, your school and the lender, not just the number of loans you have. Really confusing IMO. I have already signed the papers stating I will take the bonus/HPLRP.

Not referring to those papers we signed as part of our application. I just wanted to make sure everyone is bringing the same paperwork I am, although it would be hard for me to imagine if I bring both loan statements and promissory notes, that I would have a problem getting them taken care of. Yes, it's best to put an unemployment deferment (either military related or not) on loans.

I am still hoping for January, but losing that hope. My recruiter told me there is a hold up due to so many applications that went in 2 weeks before my final paperwork. SIGH. I knew this was a long process, but this final wait is so difficult. I guess I will be in COT in March then.... hopeful.
