Coronavirus Update - WHO Declares Global Health Emergency

January 30 - 5:27 am EST - India declares first case of Wuhan Coronavirus

January 30 - 7:00 am EST - To date, the Wuhan Coronavirus has taken the lives of 171 people in China and infected at least 8,248 since it's emergence on December 31, 2019.

January 30 -12:37 EST -The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has confirmed the first U.S. case of human-to-human transmission of the Wuhan Coronavirus, today, January 30, 2020. The new patient is the husband of the Chicago woman who brought the infection back from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak, CDC and Illinois health officials said during a press briefing. Health officials said the man, in his 60s, has "some underlying medical conditions" but was in good condition. His wife was doing well but remained in isolation at a local hospital, they said.

The new patient is the husband of the Chicago woman who brought the infection back from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak, CDC and Illinois health officials said during a press briefing. Health officials said the man, in his 60s, has "some underlying medical conditions" but was in good condition. His wife was doing well but remained in isolation at a local hospital, they said.

Twenty-one patients in Illinois are also being monitored by Public Health officials for possible infection.

Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease said "This is a very serious public health situation. Moving forward, we can expect to see more cases, and more cases means more potential for person-to-person spread"

9:16 PM - Chinese officials on Thursday reported 43 new deaths and 1,982 new cases of the novel coronavirus. That brings the total number of deaths to 213, and the total number of cases to 9,692.

Out of the 9,962 cases, 1,527 are critical, officials said.

Novel Coronavirus Hits the East Coast

A Boston resident in his 20's who had just returned from Wuhan, China becomes the 8th U.S.confirmed case of Novel Coronavirus - the first on the East Coast. He sought medical attention soon after his return to Massachusetts and has been in isolation since then.

I read that this corona virus may be bigger than what they know. That China may have been covering it up for awhile.
