My drive home is a half hour to 45 minutes.......I talk to my boyfriend on the phone the whole way (hands free of course!! :) ) and vent, vent, vent!! He's not in healthcare and has NO idea what I'm talking about, but he listens. It's not really ever about the patients, I don't expect easy days with them. It's usually about a certain staff member that he doesn't know. Better to gripe to him since he's so detached from my situation than to another staff member that can spread things around! LOL
I commiserate with my absolutely AWESOME coworkers. My husband doesn't have the patience to listen (even tho I have to listen to him whine about HIS ER job... :stone). I have found that since I have started working out regularly (even before my shifts), I can take alot of this stuff in stride better.
every day I work, I never go home untill Ive been to the club for a good 2 hour workout. No matter how stressfull a shift has been after a 2 hr workout the stress is all gone.
That and I golf every opportunity I get. Just beating the **** out of that lil white ball does wonders for my psyche.

I was wondering what others do to take the edge off after "One Of Those Days". I somtimes meet others in healthcare and we have a beverage or two and a gripe session. I know of a lady who power lifts after work to deal with things.
Chime in. Let's all share.
As for me I am going to go fly my kite and freeze my a** off doing it but it does relax me.
Thanks in advance to anyone and everyone for their thoughts.
So let's have fun.
Much Peace
