Cook Children's Pediatric Nurse Residency program - July 2015 Cohort

Published

Hey y'all!

I am super excited the Cook Children's Pediatric Nurse Residency Program finally posted the opening date for applications to the July 2015 Cohort (January 2nd, 2015!). I am working on the residency requirements and plan to do some mock trials with my professors while I finish my last semester in the Rutgers ABSN program.

Anyone from the previous cohorts have suggestions for interview questions to practice or other suggestions for hopeful applicants? What did you think of the case studies?

Anyone else applying for the July 2015 Cohort??

I heard in the last cohort there were two days of calls.

I hope what you heard is right... but major Congratulations to those who were called!!

Congratulations on the offers!!

Congratulations on the offers, I got the call yesterday and accepted also.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten an offer today? I interviewed on the last day and still have not heard anything and can't decide if I should be worried or not..

Britney parker, I also interviewed on the last day too. I'm honestly kind of thinking they called there top picks and seeing who is going to accept to see if they should offer more or not. But who knows just a theory!

They said that offers needed to be accepted by end of business day today. So if that's true I'm sure they will make more calls in the next few days.

Can anyone who was accepted give a brief summary of your credentials? That sounds so serious:sarcastic:... but GPA, work experience, practicum/preceptorship location, volunteering, clubs, etc?

Sent you a PM. :)

It won't let me message you back because I haven't participated enough on the site, but wow, that is so impressive. i can see why they accepted you! i unfortunately don't have many of those options due to my school being so small :(. i'm definitely motivated to push myself now! thanks for reaching out. i really appreciate it.

Of course! My trick in nursing school was to volunteer for everything and put yourself out there. If your school doesn't offer things, join some professional organizations and get involved there. I'm sure you are doing awesome. I'm also a second degree student so I'd like to think I had my life more together than in college. :)

Does anyone know what the starting salary is for the GN position? Just curious how it compares to other hospitals.
