  1. Hi, I'm a nurse with 1 year, 2 months of experience and was offered $25.50/hr at Baylor Dallas for an RN job at a specialty inpatient unit. This is lower than my current employer and I think that my background in their desired speciality and certifications gave me a good competitive edge (however, I do know that I still only have 1 year of experience). Should I have negotiated for more or is this an expected salary? This is much lower than my current job..I'm willing to take a pay cut, I just wasn't sure if this was a normal salary for 1 yr of experience and certification.
  2. i know about 5 people who interviewed last semester (this is when they have a TON of applicants and not a lot of spots, so it is better to apply now!), and none got offers. it was somewhat intimidating during parts of the interview. but if you get accepted, it really is a great opportunity.
  3. ^it doesnt hurt to apply, but technically, the program is for BSNs. I do know BHCS employees that got around some of the typical rules (typical rules being BSN, graduating before the internship starts), if they worked for them and their hospital wanted to hire them once they graduated. Thats when I have seen the exception.
  4. whats RN I pay? just curious. thanks :) if you get out before the contract ends, do you owe the same amount or does it decease over time? asking for a dec 2015 applicant--I think the contract scares some people away!
  5. Does anyone know parkland's pay for their nurse residents? I have a friend who is wanting to apply next semester and is wondering. thanks : )
  6. it's just navy--any style. not embroidered :) the shoes can be whatever style or color--even just running shoes. hope this helps! the only requirement is the color of scrubs. and the jacket may need to say baylor (or not have a random logo from somewhere else) but i think fleece is okay at the dallas campus
  7. Anyone know where to meet tomorrow? My friend is wondering and hasn't recieved the email.
  8. i heard they were posted yesterday? might want to check :)
  9. New grads at Baylor start off around $24.50 if that helps...not sure how much credit she would get with experience in the Phillipines but $24.50 should be the minimum.
  10. congrats! (and a good reminder that hard work and faith can lead to great things!)
  11. it would be hart to get in, but it doesnt hurt to try. maybe send a note explaining you will send updated grades when they come in?
  12. Does anyone know the starting salary for the GN at Parkland? Just curious how it compares to other hospitals (I had a classmate ask, and I'm not sure). thanks
  13. Does anyone know what the starting salary is for the GN position? Just curious how it compares to other hospitals.
  14. Does anyone know the starting salary for Children's? Just curious how it compares to other hospitals.
