Hey y'all I'm getting ready to apply for the Cook Children's GN residency for the February 2015 cohort and I was hoping to get some advice or really just people to talk to about the process :)
I'm almost done with my essay but I'm still "perfecting" it because I'm a terrible essay writer.
Just had my interview today! I was so nervous because everyone acted like it would be so scary! I was interviewed by three people. One educator, a manager, and a current nurse resident. They took turns asking me questions. Probably about 10 behavioral questions. Then there was a three part case study. It really wasn't as bad as I anticipated. The interviewers were all extremely nice and encouraging. Good luck with your interviews, guys!!
Me too! I felt like I didn't say what they were looking for on the case study questions. Good luck to you all! If anyone hears anything, will you please let us know?
Also, I was unable to do a tour of the hospital. How did that go for anyone who did have the opportunity?
The tour was so nice! They asked where I wanted to go and I said ED, NICU, or PICU, and they took me to all 3! The hospital is beautiful :)
I felt the same way about the case study! I really didn't expect my nerves to effect me in that way! The behavioral questions were a little on the unexpected side for me just bc they weren't the run of the mill questions everybody uses but I think I did better on those than on the case study… Anyways good luck y'all!

Hey! I also have applied for the nurse residency program. I got a call last week and have an interview for Wednesday as well. Super nervous! I made a post asking about the interview process too, because I have also heard some intimidating things about the interview process. Good luck guys!
