Btw, we have been fully in person all year. Like full school , every day.
Yikes.
First of all, I am so sorry. That is incredibly disheartening after a school year like this. We have been full time in person since August too and it is A LOT to manage. I can imagine this feels like a slap in the face. ?
Do you have any ability to negotiate the contract offer? Maybe put together a one pager with how your roll has expanded in complexity, including all the new rolls you've taken on within the school (covid commander, resident covid expert, etc...). I am hoping maybe the don't realize all you've been doing this year and that is why they offered such a disappointing deal.

That is my exact reaction as well. I'm sorry that your district doesn't value you as much as they should.
That would be a no for me as well. A couple of years ago I received a contract for more responsibility( only nurse as opposed to assistant) and more time with no extra pay. I came back to them with documentation for similar jobs and the pay range. The CEO in our case immediately rewrote the contract. That said I was not bluffing I was in a position to walk away from the job and was prepared to do so.
I'm sorry to hear it ? that has to be so frustrating and put you in a difficult spot. My last "raise" was 50 cents more per hour so I'm nervous to see what is offered for next school year. After how much more work was put on me this year with COVID, I don't think I'll return next year anyways...
How do you feel about your school? Do you have supportive teachers/a positive work environment? We've been in-person learning full time since August as well. It's been hellish but it's helped that most of the school staff recognize how hard I've been working.
It doesn't hurt to try and renegotiate your contract/pay and if they aren't willing to budge, hopefully there are better opportunities out there for you. Good luck!!

I would take your hourly salary and add it up to reflect the above and take this back to them and tell them you will stay if they will do this. Otherwise I would pack up my belongings and look elsewhere. I cannot think of a single school that isn't hopefully finally realizing all we do as school nurses after the year we have had.
Update: I negotiated a 3% raise and a $2k COVID bonus (I asked for $6k, since this is what teachers get for taking on a new class - so $2k was rather disappointing).
I did sign the contract, but I have until end of March to back out.
I feel a bit stuck because I am pregnant (they do not know this), so if I leave to another job I will not have the one year required to qualify for FMLA. I feel better about the outcome, but next year will be my last year.
Edit: Oh, and regarding the extra weeks - apparently they extended the school year by a week and didn't tell anyone. Like, no teachers knew or anything until I challenged the dates in my contract. They just slipped that in. So I will work that extra school week and then I can "work from home" for my standard week before kids and week after kids.
